🏻 Tobin DW5959 Winking Santa Stocking Cross Stitch Kit - 14 Count, 17-Inch Long Review

Good design. A bit difficult to read (caution: I have old eyes). I love how beautifully this pairs with lovely touches of gold thread and pearls. My only complaint is that cheap embroidery floss gets tangled so easily. I will do this design again with a better thread.

First of all the Aida fabric is of very poor quality. After working on it for several hours, the fabric fell apart. See the attached photo, I circled the spots that started to tear. Also the thread was bad, the colors bleed when it's time to wash after you're done with all the stitches. The pattern is difficult to see, black and white printing and cheap paper. I wouldn't recommend buying it and if you do plan on spending the extra money to buy your own Aida cloth and replace all the floss.

I was very disappointed with this set. I would recommend buying it just for the pattern. I've bought so many kits over the years and this is the first kit that didn't have enough thread to work on the entire project or complete instructions. It's a 'custom' brand and it doesn't come with DMC filament, the colors aren't even close. So I would advise you to pack ALL the floss in one kit and use DMC. Soo. After many hours of creating this template, I have some of the same complaints as other reviews I've read. The thread is cheap and easily tangled and sometimes just snaps without warning. I ran out of black before finishing the outlines, then ran out of gold before finishing the parts of the ribbon that needed it. THEN I ran out of beads in the fur of Santa's hat.
