Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4 AT-X 124 Pro DX II Lens - Nikon mount

I found this lens and figured it out, kicked the tires, slammed the doors HOLY MOM! Great lens! I took several shots at all focal lengths. Rich colors, sharp images, excellent contrast. I tried it on the D90 and even the images on the back of the screen were sharper than the Nikkor AF 35-70mm (never thought it would happen in such an unexpected place). Internal focusing is fast and smooth, very quiet, very still (almost no vibration). A little distortion at the edges at 12mm (nothing can be…

Arrived in near perfect condition

My lens arrived today. I took a few quick photos while it appears to be in perfect condition. No visible scratches on the class or stains on the photos I took. The lens was ordered and stocked by Revain Warehouse. The description said this lens was in good condition, no manual, no original box. I'll tell you I was a little worried there was something wrong with it since I bought it for only $150! (Took a chance due to the 30 day return policy) I was happy to see it was securely packaged. Double

A worthy lens for a wise user

I can go far with this lens but I'll stick to the facts. D40 camera, lens was 1 year+ and we took over 200-300 photos with it. I have two other lenses in my bag: 35/1.8 and 55-200 Nikkor. I mostly shoot with it outdoors - landscapes, mostly cars, flowers, some snaps + Sharpness is good even at 12mm as long as you stop at f/5.6 or higher. At f/4 the corners are noticeably soft at every length + - vignetting at 12mm - there is a trace but I don't realize I'm dying from it. Other reviewers might…

Great lens for the price

Before this lens I only had Nikon lenses. I was hesitant to buy a third party lens and had a long argument about this lens and Nikon versions with the same focal length. I ended up ordering a Tokina lens because of the price and have been pleasantly surprised ever since. Build quality is excellent and on par with Nikon lenses. It feels solid, the focus ring is smooth but maybe a little looser than the Nikon lenses I own. He's not bad, just different. The lens is sharp, sharp, and focusing is…

Approachable, sharp and well built; unfortunately has a big bug

PROS: - Professional build quality (much better than the average Nikon consumer product) - Very affordable, especially for UWA zoom - SHARP! very sharp - Great feel for zoom and focus ring - Internal zoom and focus (it's surprisingly nice, especially if you've never had a built-in zoom lens) CONS: - Extremely high chromatic aberration/color fringing at the edges (not extreme fringes, just -Very slight to spread (although this is common with other UWA zooms but that's something to keep in mind)…
