Loser from Factory Depot

I got this GPS the other day. Arrived in a plain box with no packing material and no invoice. I updated it and the next morning I went to my work truck and tried it out. No matter what I tried, it didn't stick to the window. Okay, I had to go to work, so I programmed a known address into my duty route and off I went. The GPS took me the wrong way across town and dropped me off at a public restroom. Oh boy. Well I contacted Factory Depot and the girl on the other end told me that company policyโ€ฆ

Inaccurate: I should have looked at more

I had a hard time deciding on a GPS unit when I saw this one with a good rating from Consumer Reports. I thought they were all the same. I haven't used it that much, mainly to navigate country ball games. However, the very first day I received it, I decided to see how it would take me to high school, where I would take the familiar path. The start was ok. Then he told me to turn right onto a certain street. The name said nothing but I figured the GPS might have meant the shortest route. Big. As

Great GPS for the price!

I received my TOM TOM 340S GPS last night. Before I list the pros and cons, let me first tell you why I chose this particular model. I have chosen to purchase standard updates and traffic updates instead of lifetime updates for the following: 1) the first lifetime update which is only valid for this specific device, it is NOT transferrable. I don't think anyone will use this GPS all their life :), new models are released frequently and I'm sure we would like to update them. 2) Do you reallyโ€ฆ

The best I've ever had. on car gps

UPDATE 10/29/09 I tried a Magellan 1470 Roadmate with Lane Departure Warning to see how good the Lane Departure Warning was. Magellan uses small traffic signs in its GPS with a tiny arrow on the sign indicating the lane of travel. These signs are tiny and difficult to read, and you must find the appropriate street sign and then adjust your lane according to the GPS. This works pretty well EXCEPT at night when real street signs are lit, and sometimes poorly lit and sometimes not lit at all. It's
