The beautiful finish of the spray gun makes cleaning easier.

Masterfully done with properly diluted KILZ Adhesion High-Bonding Interior Latex Primer/Sealer, White, 1 gal. I found a slight imbalance in the airflow through the nozzle, which resulted in a regular buildup of paint at the tip. However, the beautiful finish of the spray gun makes it easy to clean the entire assembly. Despite possible lack of performance 5 stars for what you get for the price.

Would I buy it again? Probably.

This was my first experience with a gravity feed gun so I don't have a comparison but here are my observations: Pros: Seems to spray well and evenly Good price Regulator on the bottom is useful Cons: Most nuts are closed tightly dressed. It took some serious effort to undo them to clean the gun and if you don't clean it well you might as well throw it away after a single use. The tool they send to loosen and tighten screws is crap. Most don't really fit. You must use your own wrenches. The hose

Decent gun for the money

I have sprayed latex, enamel, urethane and lacquer with this gun. This is a great all round pistol if you don't expect a perfect finish. The internal parts started to rust after about a year of use. The gun will produce a good pattern if you dilute the product appropriately. For the money I think this is a decent pistol to start with. I have since given up Neiko products and switched to PowRyte. I still use this gun for spraying primer and just sprayed a clear coat with metallic flakes. I have…

Cons
  • No instructions

As other reviewers have pointed out, disassembling the die head is nearly impossible. Also, I've had a hard time spraying latex paint no matter how I mix the paint. I even went beyond the manufacturer recommended ratio but still couldn't get the pattern I wanted. Very little paint comes out of the nozzle. Maybe an oil paint would be better for spraying, that was my guess. I managed to disassemble the nozzle after searching the internet for some tips. You will need a heat source such as an 80w…

Cons
  • Nothing here

This review refers to (Neiko 31215A HVLP gravity gun, 1.7 mm nozzle). I've used this gun about ten times for restoration work on multiple vehicles here and there. I bought this gun specifically for auto primers and sealants. It's not a bad pistol, but there are a few issues to be aware of. First, the front of the controller is plastic. If you put varnish, MEK or HET thinner on it - which you do when you clean it - the plastic will be destroyed and you won't be able to see anything, so you can…

Not suitable for latex

I bought this gun for spraying water based primer and paint because of its large 2mm tip but the larger tip doesn't help much. Works similarly to the purple KV pistol, although it has a 1.4mm tip. Either way, you need 60 to 80 psi at the compressor outlet to spray latex paint. Make sure you have a 20 gallon compressor or it will run all the time which is not what it was designed for. As others have said, cleaning the tip is nearly impossible. I ended up getting it using a 10mm socket wrench…

Excellent Performance - Cannot remove nozzle

I bought this for 3 reasons, positive feedback on quality of finish, low CFM requirements and price. Overall, I'm happy with the performance of the Neiko 31215A on all three devices. My main application is woodworking. In the past I have had trouble applying conversion polish which is very difficult to work with. I usually get an orange peel that needs polishing. Neiko's finish was pretty good. Maybe not perfect, but very close, no polish. I have also used it with Sparlack without thinning. I…

Great news! NO thread lock on the spray tip!

A lot of reviews talk about how difficult it is to remove the spray tip. Some call it a spray nozzle, a spray cap and other things. The manufacturer did NOT put thread lock on the ones I received. I was able to take it off without any difficulty. It was tight but not too tight. I took everything apart and washed it in hot, soapy water. Collected and filled with hot water. Adjusted the template and it did a great job with the cardboard. I have a project and I will be photographing all the water…
