Topeak Extra Rack Babyseat Black Review

We bought this to install a child bike seat on my husband and FIL's bikes and it fits perfectly. The chair easily switches between the two frames without having to separate the entire chair each time.

This item will not fit Townie bikes. The bar on which the child seat is attached is too far forward. It is blocked by the seat. The infant carrier kind of matches my wife's townie because she has a seat up to the bar. Even with the seat all the way down (i.e. in the most forward position) we struggled to lock the child seat in place.

My smart husband installed this on my bike after we got a Topeak child seat for his bike. I skipped the 'quick bike assembly' part in the specs and my bike doesn't have it. I thought I'd have to send the post back, but I was able to attach the stabilizer arms to the seatpost mounting bracket. I also had to drill a few pre-existing bottom mounting holes and add longer fasteners and nuts to secure them. After a few refurbishments this shelf is very durable and should hold supplies for years to come.

Unable to install if required screws and brackets are missing from package. I have ordered two of these. Both were marked as new in the box. One arrived with tags and fittings as it should, but the other was repackaged as if it was a returned item and was missing all hardware and branding inserts. very disappointed. Didn't bother to open the boxes until the return policy expired so here I am. As far as I know Revain has no way of contacting the seller regarding the purchase.
