Topeak Front Basket Bike Compatible Review

Lots of parts to assemble. It took me more time to assemble the basket than assembling the bike myself. And damn, it blocks the built-in headlight.

Basket is of high quality, quick release works well. However, the basket rotates on two handlebar mounts and tilts down without support. I was able to fix this by taking an old lantern mount and shaping it into a tree shape. Now the basket won't tip over when it hits a tree. The manufacturer really should add a floor support.

Not sure what the other reviewer was talking about as nowhere in the manual does it say I have to remove the display. All I had to do was remove 2 screws from the bracket, snap the bracket into place (my handlebars are the largest possible diameter so I didn't have to use extra spacers) and screw it back on. The basket snaps securely into place and easily holds about 10 pounds. I love this basket and am glad my local bike shop suggested I get it from Revain.

This basket with special attachment is sold specifically for electric bikes. The first step in the installation guide is to remove the factory display from the bike and then install the basket. You must remove the factory display as the basket uses this space for its mounting and leaves no space (in my app) to reinstall the display. And whatever it is, the instructions don't mention resetting the factory display! I called tech support and tried different ways to get both to coexist but…
