Filled niche suitable for whetstones

I haven't bought a new tool since I got the Tormek 25 years ago. I needed this to reshape some of the notch chips. It works great after initial confusion with the WTF setup.

Pros
  • Can be used for different lengths of side grind
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

well worth the money

Overall I'll give this one a 1st try. great tools that work really well. It's a bit more expensive than most Tormek Jigs but I have good tools and want them to stay that way I would give + if it was closer to $75.

Pros
  • Max blade width 1-3/8"
Cons
  • Doubtful buy for the elderly

Unbelievable, now I think it was worth the money.

My grinder is an 8 inch Grizzly wet grinder that I bought for $129. It's great for sharpening and sharpening straight chisel blades, but also for turning, the notch is useless by default. You need a good template to first shape and then sharpen these curved knives. They spend almost as much on a jig as I do on my grinder was hard to swallow but I knew Tormek and loved what they did but didn't want to spend $400-600 on their wet grinders. Can a tool cost over $100? I'm embarrassed to say it…

Pros
  • Can also be used for curved carving chisels, V-tools and luthier knives
Cons
  • So far so good
