Very good for the price but it would have been better if they were a little darker to match my other oven mitts better. I just smear it with oil and that should help.

feels awkward in the hand, the leather is clearly of poor quality and the adjustment options are limited. Feels very fragile. I don't recommend it, but in extreme cases it will work. Edit: I used this for a week and then replaced it. Bad quality does not even begin to describe the quality of the leather. It doesn't even look like leather and doesn't absorb oil. Don't buy this, even as a last resort. If your saddle slips, it will break.

I don't remember ever owning a Tough-1 but I settled on an inexpensive work collar. My collars are used very often, and sometimes a little carelessness can quickly damage even good leather here in the desert. However, this skin felt like thin paper and was already ripped and torn upon arrival. I cut it and kept the metal rings. You get what you pay for and sometimes I wish I could learn this lesson.

I love simple harnesses for my horses. This one matched my saddle and seemed to fit the bill perfectly. My 900lb/14.3 hr QH uses this on the shortest setting (5 holes on each shoulder) with a fade strap. The smallest hole on the belt clip is still a bit long, but can be made a little smaller with an awl. The leather on the strap is not stitched which is a bit of a testament to the durability: I've had it for about 6 months now and the skin has started to tear deep near the O-ring in the centre.
