This went well with my lead but before using it for a proper trip I somehow managed to damage the round key. Something pressed on the key and it became slightly out of round and would no longer open the lock. This can be very bad if it happens on a trip where you don't have access to a second key. This style key doesn't really offer any extra security, quite the opposite, so it's no good having a key that can be easily damaged.

This is a very good quality clutch pin retainer. It's easy to use and very reliable, especially with the addition of a spring clip. No key is required for locking, the lock is simply pressed and locked. This worked well on my 2017 Tacoma, which requires a longer needle than most. I had a question so I contacted the seller. If you use extensions or other modifiers on your drawbar, using the same key for both locking pins saves you the confusion of choosing a key. They are milled from a single round stock rather than pressed in two, making them virtually theft proof. Most studs have a round body with a pressed-on nut point that is easy to knock out with a hammer. Better than expected, made with quality materials. Attached both locks to my camper, very handy that the locks have the same keys. RV to a towed vehicle so I needed one on the RV and another on the hitch that attaches to the toad. Only possible issue is the length and size of the ends, the 7 pin light mount almost blocked the end of the key so I had to turn the ends. there is no room for my avalanche to install this lock as it is too long and the end of the key is too big to fit on the hitch…
