That was what I expected, general details, most of them related to the transmission, but I am having problems with the torque converter and this gives some but not very detailed information. The TC information will definitely be subordinate to the transmission information, so be it.

I bought my truck last year and it is 22 years old and needs repairs. I always turned my own wrenches and step by step the work went smoothly. I've always liked getting used to manuals, I'm looking for greasy fingerprints. That shows me the problem the last owner had with his trip.

I bought this manual specifically for changing and adjusting the brakes on a 1997 Toyota 4Runner. I find the manual very borderline - images are not large enough to see how the brake components are correctly positioned. Job descriptions tend to be vague and not detailed enough for an inexperienced mechanic. I have worked with cars for over 40 years and found this guide to be a good general guide only. But despite all that, it's better than no guide at all!

I bought this guide because I just bought a used 1996 4Runner 4WD and I have a problem with the 4WD system. First, there are NO schematics at all for any 4Runner electrical system, only Tacoma and T100. In addition, there is not even an entry in the index for all-wheel drive. There is only a very small entry for the 4WD gear selector system which is only present on certain vehicles, it is not a standard 4WD system. There are neither mechanical nor electrical all-wheel drive systems to describe.
