Why did I wait so long to buy? Spirit.

I already had a TP-Link powerline extender, but we had an old, outdated wireless router from another brand, and our two desktop Macs and my iPad wouldn't load pages though they have indicated that they are connected to the Internet. Since the technicians at TP-Link were very helpful in setting up my powerline extender, I decided to buy one of their routers, thinking that a modern router would probably solve my problems. However, I was afraid to plug it in - I expected that I would have to spend

The best router I've ever had.

I replaced another router that was giving me trouble with it and I have to say I'm VERY happy with it. Being a "geek" everyone knows that I end up installing LOTS of routers for friends and family, so I've seen a lot of user interfaces. A lot of the newest devices I've come across try to be so user-friendly that you basically can't set anything complicated about them - just turn them on, set an SSID and password, and the device doesn't do much more do. On the other hand, although I often use…

Pros
  • The dual-band router supports 1200Mbps (300Mbps for 2.4GHz + 900Mbps for 5GHz) high-speed Internet access, reduces buffering and is ideal for 4K streaming. Does NOT support WISP for wireless ISP interface
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

My worst router experience in 10 years.

The first part of this review is an edit of the original review. The service desk establishes or terminates the relationship between the customer and the provider. The customer service I've experienced from TP-Link is possibly the worst I've ever experienced. I started with a ridiculously long wait. I said because you have to jump through some hoops. If they say write that number down, in case we get separated, do it. You'll be disconnected, so call back and wait. Then I switched to online…

It's been about 5 months and all of a sudden it started disabling Wi-Fi for just SOME wireless devices. After just a few days, it turns off ALL wireless devices and the TP LINK app won't connect because the WiFi connection is down. Rebooting the router fixed the problem, but increasingly frequent resets (2-3 times a day) are required to fix the problem. Attempting to call customer service from the TP Link app. However, this number is international and my project service won't let me call it…
