tram 1/4 wave pin with SWR 1.25 installed. I switched to tram 1159-wb and the SWR is almost 1:1 without tuning, but what is the difference in reception. Also eliminated the "picket fence" I had with 1/4 wave. If you don't mind a larger antenna, I recommend this for your truck or car. Antenna works well so far. The antenna is mounted on my truck on a stainless steel Firestick SS194 mount. This corresponds to the TYT TH-9000 60 watt VHF transceiver, which has the same frequency range as this antenna. I can turn on a 2 meter repeater (relays 25 watts) about 20 miles away and receive at about the same distance. Further distances from the repeater begin to decrease.

This is my second Mobile Antenna 1159-WB 136-174MHz. Works as it should, like a wide range VHF antenna. Also seems to have the boost it claims to have. My field testing has shown me to have fewer fades and picket fences than a 5/8 vertical wave on the same vehicle. The antenna was tested with the same NMO mount in the middle of the roof.
