Travel Smart Conair Adapter Converter Review

I bought and took to another country to convert 220v to 110v Conair steamers. I plugged it in with the 220V to 110V setting and after a few seconds my steamer won't turn on. The main reason I bought this was because of the converter, but unfortunately it didn't work. I can no longer return the product as I am already in another country and this is the main reason for the purchase. Can you do anything about it?

I was at a labor conference in Italy, UK and France recently and took this with me. I wasn't sure about Italy as only 2 pins come out of this converter and I know some sockets actually have 3 holes. Well the 2 pin worked great! In the UK there is a middle piece of plastic that needs to be pulled out to fit the third hole in the socket. The US plug space only allows the use of plugs where both pins are small. My large hair straightener would not fit in the fork because the end of one of the pins

After that it charges for a second and then stops, charges and then stops over and over again.
