Limited Linux support

I bought these to use in a few Linux boxes and was disappointed to find that the driver wasn't actually in the kernel tree. There is an external driver, but it corrupts the kernel (tn40xx: loading a module outside of the tree corrupts the kernel). Doesn't seem to matter to me, I'd rather not use them. I'm going to replace them with some Mellanox cards. For reference, the card reports itself as an Ethernet adapter from Tehuti Networks Ltd. TN9310 10GbE SFP+ with PCI ID 1fc9:4022.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Works with 2012 R2 and 10Gtek Ubiquiti DAC cables!

This is an overview of the 10Gb SFP+ model. Fiction. Works well on Windows and installs easily on Supermicro servers and Dell R610 servers. Install the driver from the CD before rebooting as instructed, then reboot to install. The card is recognized immediately and correctly as a 10GB adapter. I used a pair of 10Gtek Ubiquiti Direct Attach (DAC quest) copper cables and connected them to the SFP+ ports on my Ubiquiti US-48-500w switch. All connections were immediately negotiated to 10Gb and…

Pros
  • Wide Range
Cons
  • Zero

Very good value AND ready to use

Sure, 10GbE is almost ridiculous for a small studio application, but the throughput was worth it. Transferring huge video files to the NAS and editing stations saves you time.

Pros
  • Beautiful looks
Cons
  • Capacity

works out of the box at full speed, very easy to set up, plug and play

Set this up on a PC for a 10G connection to a QNAP NAS drive and what is the speed difference to 1G. It's amazing how fast it is. Very easy setup and operation right out of the box with Revain QSFPTEK 10G SFP+ DAC Cable. A very cheap solution.

Pros
  • Nicely
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Compatible SFP+ DAC?

Purchased for use with Unraid server and Ruckus icx 7150-c12p switch. Unfortunately I haven't been able to test the functions yet. Unraid addresses it quite well, but I've tried two different DAC cables so far and neither worked. I have another much more expensive DAC that claims to be compatible with my Switch. Once I have received the cable and verified that it works (if it works) I will come back and update this review. The network card itself is nice and small and looks well constructed.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • No Performance

TRENDnet 10 Gigabit PCIe SFP+

The TRENDnet 10 Gigabit PCIe SFP+ I received uses the Aquantia Felicity chipset. I wanted to use it in QNAP NAS, but the card was not recognized by the operating system (any Linux). The Intel and Mellanox 10Gb PCIe cards worked fine in the same NAS, so it wasn't a hardware issue. Make sure your operating system supports the chipset as it is not as common as normal mainstream cards. The network card is finally used on a Win 7 PC to connect to a 10 Gigabit NAS. The included drivers on the mini CD

Pros
  • Lots of Good Vibes
Cons
  • Style 90

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY

The board was easy to install and fits perfectly in the case but the documentation is hard to access as searching for this device on trendnet will take you to version 1.0. the device is version 2.0 and there is an important difference in terms of Linux support: version 1.0 has very limited Linux/Unix-based support, but version 2.0 has Linux support, although it runs on other Unix-based operating systems like BSD is still restricted. The card uses an Aquantia AQtion 10gig interface controller…

Pros
  • Super
Cons
  • Almost OK

Works great in Win10

I was having some issues with my 10G Ethernet solution so I switched to a fiber solution. Chipset Aquantia. It appears to be a rebrand of the AQN-100. I'm not very happy with the Aquantia chipsets but I'll see if I get the same issues as my 10G ethernet or if this Aquantia fiber is different. This card is quite compact, its length hardly exceeds the length of the x4 connector.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Broken

Didn't work for me either

I bought the same TEG-10GECSFP card and couldn't get it to work wirelessly. My computer recognizes the card as an Awanita Felicity NIC, but it doesn't light up. I connected my server to the same 10gbsfp+ port using the same fiber optic cable and it works so I know it's a trendnet card. I'll try to send it back to Revain. We don't have to pay for the card and shipping to call tech support after it's installed on my computer.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Wait too long
