Great replacement for broken onboard Wi-Fi adapters

I thought my desktop computer needed replacing because the onboard Wi-Fi kept crashing. I disabled the built-in WiFi, installed this product and voila. I surf without problems

Small and fast. I originally used this for my Raspberry Pi and it worked great. I've since ported it to my desktop for my kids to do their homework on and it works just as well there.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Not bad, but not great either.

I used it a few times and then hid it and when I tried again it was dead. Luckily it was still under warranty (within a year) so I sent it to manufacturer and they sent me a new one. While swapping this one I bought another one for less than $8 (general brand) and it worked great too. You can find it at Revain under $8 by searching for: Bl-lw05-5r USB 802.11n. adapter

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Negative impression

USB network adapters do the job well

I love the ease of use of TRENDnet's wireless adapter. As might be expected given its size, the actual range this receiver picks up is reasonably effective on small LANs, but not necessarily as good when picking up and using Wi-Fi effectively over a distance. If you need a Wi-Fi receiver for use outside the home or at home (NEAR THE MODEM/ROUTER) then this will do the job. The only real downside I noticed is that while the company claims the product can use speeds of up to 150Mbps, afterโ€ฆ

Efficient and inexpensive!

The adapter works fine! I'm giving it a 4 because I had so many problems turning it on and off when I first got it. I ended up changing the settings on both the adapter and my computer and it's working fine now. automatically connect to saved networks. Because even though I selected the "Connect automatically" option, it doesn't connect automatically. I would recommend this product to everyone I know. It's cheap (for its capabilities), efficient, and highly portable.

  • I hold my fists

  • unreliable

Worked great for 6-8 weeks then literally burned out

Worked great for 6-8 weeks then literally burned out. When it stopped working, I followed all the usual steps to restart my router, although my phone and PS4 still got Wi-Fi. I restarted my computer, yes. Went as far as uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and software. When I took out the wireless card, it felt very hot. I got scared, let it cool down and tried a different USB port. Nothing. I plugged the mic into the same USB port and left it on for three days and then checked the plugโ€ฆ

TRENDnet Wireless N 150Mbps Micro USB 2.0

I was amazed at how easy the installation was. I plugged it into my laptop and it recognized and installed itself. Choose which network (WLAN) you are using, enter the passcode and start the game. It's very small, only sticking out 1/4 inch (just over 1 cm) from the USB port. Highly recommended

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • Outside

$10 for 2 days of trouble

Installed on my Windows 7 64-bit machines Was slow as molasses from 12 feet. Receiving a signal is 80% and it barely takes up 1MB. Updated the drivers and software to the latest version and it still didn't move. Placed my laptop next to the PC with its own internal card and it pulled 35MB. If you're thinking of buying this, don't. It will only give you a headache trying to figure out why you are out of bandwidth, dropping packets and having high latency. Guaranteed my last product from thisโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Same as everything before

  • Only available in white
