Durable and unique design

This anti-rattle coupling looks much sturdier than other simpler U-bolt designs on the market. However, I have two small complaints; First, nowhere in the instructions/packaging does it say the torque required to tighten the two bolts - I torqued it to 40 ft-lbs. Second, the kit did not include a lock washer or self-locking screws, so I had to add a thin 1/2"-13 self-locking screw to keep the included screw from loosening. I will update this review after towing my trailer over 200 miles.

Feels heavy on external accessories

I agree with other reviews that it should at least have a lock washer or nylock nut on it. It feels heavy and has a decent finish. I replaced the original nuts with nylon nuts and tightened them with German torque (tighten well). It's definitely tight. This completely eliminates the free play of this part of the clutch. Absolutely worth the money. This isn't the product's fault, but if you're using a weight-protected hitch, it can prevent you from using both pins for the storage position. You…

Disappointing quality

Clamp seems strong enough. I just received it today and haven't been able to use it yet. That being said, as you can see from the picture, the finish is smaller than I expected. The paint peeled off before it was taken out of the packaging. While this hasn't affected its function yet, I do need to repaint it to avoid rusting. I didn't have to do this with a brand new item. By the way, it should definitely come with lock washers to keep the nuts from loosening. There's just something else I need

Awaiting deployment but impressive weight

Not installed yet but looks like a champ. Reinforced, double-bolted, heavy, and after watching YouTube videos you'll appreciate the added reliability that comes from bolting on a hitch receiver with thousands of pounds of clamping pressure (I'm sure AVE knows full well). Feels good to help protect my $300 adjustable receiver clutch while reducing possible backlash and clutch noise. (edited 11/26/2019): Works great, trailer not stolen yet. Locks tight, didn't notice a difference while driving…

Good product. Buy different nuts!

Using this product with my Anderson clutch. New truck and new hitch, there was a lot of play between the hitch and the receiver. Good build quality. I had to get a grinder to this and cut a small stamped channel in it so it could sit flat on the hitch, a 2019 Ram 3500. I'm sure this is not needed in most cases and is not recommended by the manufacturer. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 was because it comes with standard U-bolt nuts. We drove 5,000 miles and found that I had to check…

Solved the problem well for towing gear and winches

Our rusty streets are full of junk and I've been looking for something (anything) to improve the driving experience by even a fraction of a percent. I installed this device to counteract a lot of slop and chatter in a one-piece trunnion hitch on a RAM 3500 Double. On the advice of other reviewers, I previously bought better, stronger nuts at the hardware store. To ensure a tight fit, I went into overkill mode and used class 5 locknuts and class 8 nuts. After having to tighten the fixture a few…

Bent and bent for towing products and winches

I really like the design of this device. Unfortunately, as another reviewer noted, the U-bolt isn't properly hardened. I installed this on a hitch with a 10kg trailer. Since some reviewers mentioned that the nuts are loose, I replaced them with nylon locks and stainless steel lock washers. After about 5 hours of towing, the nuts and u-bolts wore out because they were too soft. They were so annoyed that it was difficult to see things and I had no interest in using them again. In addition, the…
