Good product, works as described

Great adapter to connect Ethernet over USB to my laptop. The speed is great and it gets rid of the constant disconnects from my remote workstation caused by Wi-Fi. Would definitely buy again.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • boring packaging

Just a splinter: computer and accessories

These are not two separate mermaids. This is a network card with a built-in splitter. I needed one network adapter for an internal network and one for an external network blocked by a firewall.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Empty

DO NOT use this for FREENAS! (Review for FreeNAS)

If you use Mac or Windows, this adapter is probably the 5-start product for you. This overview is for FreeNAS or FreeBSD users. This adapter does not use ASIX as stated on the manufacturer's site, but uses a Realtek controller. The driver that came with the system allows for plug-and-play operation, but it does not work properly. No information is sent to the control panel and you get the status "Link Unknown". I bought the U236-000-GBW as a replacement and it works out of the box with an ASIXโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Little things

Doesn't work as advertised, Trip Lite bug. The seller is NOT to blame.

WARNING"Connect both ports to the same network or each port to a separate network" NOT TRUE, Tripp Lite support even confirmed this with their web page, printed user manual and Even the box press to do it but it doesn't, they confirmed that when trying to get it to work. Unfortunately, this affects the rating of the supplier, since the supplier fulfilled the promise on time and according to the agreement, the problem lies in the manufacturer's claims. The seller might talk to the manufacturerโ€ฆ

Pros
  • understandable even for the old
Cons
  • Some little things

DO NOT use this for FREENAS! (Overview for FreeNAS)

Windows , this adapter is likely , will be a 5 launch product for you. This overview is for FreeNAS or FreeBSD users. works as advertised.

Works as advertised. A laptop with a 3rd generation Intel i5 processor, password 4000, reads over 700 Mbit/s and writes about half that. This compares well to Anker's single-port model. Notebook with AMD A6-1450, password 1400, maximum read speed almost 300Mbps. Moral: Don't expect great results from a low-powered computer. I bought it on eBay for about 1/2 the price here. A very lucky find. I plan to experiment with this using Hyper-V and router software. Most router software does not supportโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Instant 10/100/1000Mbps network connection via USB port
Cons
  • Legacy model

driver not available online

I bought this device to use with the Surface Pro. Since it has a USB 3.0 port, I wanted a USB 3.0 device. Problem number one was installation. Drivers are not available on the Tripp Lite website. It comes with a driver CD, but the Surface doesn't have a CD drive. I have an external CD drive so I could install the drivers. When I work in IT, I usually use my machines for testing. I had a lot of trouble testing the network connections at the office to determine if my problem was a bad connectionโ€ฆ

Pros
  • The adapter is compact and USB bus powered; does not require an external power supply
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
