Not for use with shielded twisted pair (STP) cables

Many PoE devices offer shielded cables for extra protection against interference: shielded cables only, unshielded (UTP).

Pros
  • Ideal for small homes
Cons
  • Most suitable, but...

Good build quality, easy installation, generally satisfied

I bought it with a TPlink switch and a 19" wall cabinet. It was easy to install (for a layman like me). Build quality is good and it feels solid. I wanted to go with a well known brand to try and balance out some of the variables and it costs a bit more money than some of the less expensive brands but I was willing to shell out a few bucks more for it...disappointed. "Guides" " were missing, but a quick trip to YouTube and simple intuition made the installation easy. Wiring first, then Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Wouldn't buy again

I'm using a thicker, better quality Cat 6 and don't get that nice "click" feeling when the wire is punched to confirm a positive connection. Getting good hits is a bit tiresome and I had to check all my connections. The plastic is quite soft and it's very easy for some to get caught in the joint. I also don't like the position of all 4 pairs next to each other, I prefer 2x2 wires at the top and bottom of each port. A total of 9 panels were used for this job and I would not use them again.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
