🔪 Efficiently Cut Wires with Tsunoda KBN 150 Cable Cutter - 6 Inch Review

I wasn't sure - I've owned various high quality dies before (Knipex, Wiha etc) but I have to say they cut fasteners - flush zips. I just tossed them in my bag where I keep all the different lengths and sizes of zippers so they're there when I need them without having to look for them. Behind the blades is a small serrated area for zip tightening that seems to work well on lengths 14 inches and under.

I bought these for my technicians who work outdoors with electronic components. They cut plastic cable ties well without leaving sharp edges on the cable ties. I haven't tried them on wire yet. Given the price, if I only cut zip ties occasionally I would use regular wire cutters, but since we cut zip ties most of the time it was worth the investment. I recommend using 6" pens as 5" pens will not fit most hands.

Their tools are meticulously handcrafted at every step, then carefully inspected to ensure they meet high quality standards. Was I sad when I saw the video? Instruments used to be made this way in the USA in the past. And to top it off, Tsunoda's tool prices are amazingly cheap. Soon I will have the full line of Tsunoda pliers and wire cutters. These flashlights are amazing. At work I use millions of cable ties. I have used Lindstrom, Knipex and Wiha flush cutters which are excellent on their own. But for cable ties, Tsunoda are PERFECT. They leave no jagged edges after trimming. Perfectly aligned. The only nitpick I would change is if they were spring loaded. It's a bit awkward to open the jaws with one hand. Works great. If you line them up correctly on the zip tie, you'll have a true flush cut every time. I also have a couple of Knipex trimmers and they aren't nearly as good. The Knipex gets pretty close but still leaves a sharp edge on the zip ties. I would appreciate if they offered them with a lower angle and a longer cutting edge instead of a zip tie/puller on the underside of the jaws. I was looking for one of those fancy cable tie guns. But I realized that they are too expensive for personal use ($250). I love using zip ties, but it's not my job to make a zip tie every hour. This is my new favorite power tool. Ultra-sharp offset head for tight spaces, with grippers on the back of the jaws to grip the blades before flush cutting without sharp edges. While circling a device with zip ties securing the wire, I inserted a four inch section of one of the protruding cut ends into my forearm, which is now a scar. I was motivated to find a tool that when you cut off the excess end of a zip tie, it cuts off flush and securely.
