First of all, I believe this item to be defective. I have had experience with "Tuffy Toys" in the past and never had one ruined so quickly. My 35lb dog was able to delaminate the "heavy duty" black seam in less than 2 minutes of play. I've seen "Tuffy Toys" last for weeks after being played with much more aggressively by much bigger dogs. I will be returning this item

I bought this toy because the product assured that it would last. However, within 10 minutes of giving it to my 30 pound, 11 month, Goldendoodle, she chewed through the stitching on the beak and shredded it. I was hoping to but a toy that would last a while but, needless to say, I was disappointed. I bought 3 other Tuffy toys and my dog chewed through their stitching on the edge as well. No more Tuffy toys for us.

I got this for my Golden Retriever for her first birthday. Most toys we buy her end up completely shredded after a few weeks, but it's been several months now and this toy still looks brand new! It's surprising since this is one of her favorite toys now, she loves the big flappy wings!

This is a great toy! I have a multi-dog household. The TUFFY pteradactyl has held up to lots of chewing and tug-of-war. The toy's shape has lots of places for a dog to chew, and to share with friends.

Our EM loves this toy. We do not let her play with it if she takes it to her bed - that's where destruction normally begins.She seems to like the way the wings flap against her when she shakes it back and forth. The beak and head (horn?) area are gnawing points.It is fairly heavy so does not "soar" if you throw it.Wings aren't super thin, but do not seem to contain any stuffing.If you have the TRex toy, this would be a bit larger, but in the same general constuction.I would think any determined

All four of my dogs love it, and the five my parents have when we visit. It hasn't been destroyed and it's been over a month so pretty happy with that. These aren't the most destructive dogs unless it's a full of fluff type, and the seams in this have them working harder to get some damage done. Two crazy kittens have decided to enjoy it as well. I'm tempted to go for the large one next.

This toy is adorable. I gave it 4 stars because it's day 3 and my dog has torn bits off all over it, and all of the stuffing out of a wing, but at the same time he is always hard on toys. I'd thought it would hold up a bit longer than the cheaper toys though. But it is huge and adorable and I like the squeaker placement in the wings.

My dog is a chewer and I only buy him tuffy he goes nuts and they last longer than all other toys I have tried Some dogs may lose interest in the toy after a short period of time, which can be frustrating for owners who spent money on it.

The Pteradactyl is tuffer than the rabbit or the mouse but it's also much bigger. My big Chocolate Lab loves little toys for some reason. He likes the Pteradactyl but it isn't the one he will search out when someone comes to the door. He likes to always have something in his mouth and the Pteradactyl is just too big.

I love this pteradactyl so far! My ginormous Shepherd likes to take apart toys - not destroy them, but methodically and determinedly deconstruct them. He's had this one for over a month and I haven't found any unraveled threads so far. He carries it around the house by the neck, drops onto the floor with it and chews away, but hasn't managed to break through the stitching. I'll definitely be buying more Tuffies.

One of our terriers is obsessed with the Tuffys. The juniors are better suited for her size, but the regular ones last a lot longer. This Pteradactyl is the perfect size, falling between the two. An excellent value - we bought two!

It’s a great toy. This is our GSD’s 3rd "Terry”. First day the squeakers are pulled out then after a few weeks filling starts to appear around the house til it is empty, then discarded. It is my dogs favorite toy. Well made and sized for a large breed dog. I will continue to purchase them. These toys last longer than anything else.

One of the only types of toy that our dog can't destroy within five minutes ( and we have had this and the turtle version for over a year). Well worth the higher price for us. The pterodactyl is huge, but works for our weim.

I have an English Bulldog that destroys toys in seconds by taking one massive "cronch". I also have a young Samoyed who loves to play tug of war with the Bulldog. We go through dozens of toys. These Tuffy products are great! They are durable enough to last for some time, they are very cute, and my dogs love the material and the squeakers. Excellent product.

This is my daughter’s puppy’s favorite toy and it has held up really well even though he has chewed apart other toys! Also he loves all the different parts there are to chew on (wings, tail, nose). Great toy!

Mr dino takes some abuse. My Dane, blue heeler, and cori have tried to destroy him, but it is tuff.I love Tuffy!Long live my furniture! hahaha

I absolutely love tuffy toys, my pup destroys his other toy with in 10 min! The tuffy toys are still going strong! My pup also love playing with them too! Just wish they were a little less expensive but I guess it's worth it if I don't have to keep buying new toys!

Our dog has a tendency to destroy all stuffed toys, so I wanted to try something more durable. The bad news is that he chewed a hole in the wing the first day. The good news is that is the only hole he's made in it. I just pulled out a bit of stuffing in that area of the wing, so he couldn't eat it. The wing is kind of quilted, so only the stuffing right around the hole could be pulled out. Since then, the toy has held up well. I've even managed to put it in the washing machine without any…

I bought this for my Great Dane's 1st birthday and he was pulling stuffing out within 15 minutes. Two days later he is still very interested in the remnants, about the equivalent of one and a half wings in two separate pieces. He does enjoy the flappability of the toy when he shakes his head back and forth, but not worth the money. I was hoping it would last him a few days at least.
