My dog is a very aggressive chewer but I was hopeful that this toy would last at least a couple of days, as it seemed well made and quite thick. Alas it was not to be, my husky-shepard got into the jaw of the hippo and removed the squeaker within 30 min of giving it to her. But for those thirty minutes she loved it.

Unfortunately my 9 month old 51 pound lab ate the bottom lip off in one day. This toy is rated a 7 on the tough scale. I will revisit the manufacturer and look for a 10 for Hanky! It was super cute though. : (

My dog really loves the hippo but it didn't hold up as well as I hoped. Today is day two and he already has pulled the stuffing out of the mouth. But he is an aggressive chewer so for it to have lasted this long is good. I will probably buy again since it lasted over a day.

It's a really cute dog toy with fun print but it did not last long at all! Hades got his large hippo for Christmas and within 15 mins had a hole in its chin and three feet. He loves destroying toys and tearing out all its stuffing. Sadly the hippo will be completely unstuffed within the hour! Although Hades is happy and having a lot of fun, it's really not that durable for super chewers and definitely not worth the money! I wish it would've lasted at least a couple of weeks.

My four dogs LOVE LOVE LOVE all Tuffy toys. We restuff them every couple of days to make them lasts longer but they are the toughest toys we've found.

I have an extremely aggressive chewer and this is about the only toy recently he has not been able to chew in a matter of minutes. The only thing I will say that for my dog it does not provide a lot of "fun " because it’s really not a tug toy , it doesn’t squeak and it doesn’t taste like food , but that’s just my dog. if you’re looking for some thing that your dog might like to play with this is very durable.

my dog destroys everything and this toy is a H@#$ of a match for her! Normally she will destroy a toy in 3 minutes total waste of money; but this toy we have had for at least three months and not even a hole. My dog plays hard with this toy too. She sleeps with is also. She LOVES this toy and it is durable enough to withstand an eighty pound bulldogs rath :D

I think we have bought almost every animal from this company and we call them all by their names! Our Lab Chloe loves loves loves to play with these toys. Whether its tug of war, to show off her new toy when friends visit, or to play catch when we throw Hilda in the backyard.these have to be the most durable of all toys and a squeaker hidden inside also! we buy 2 or 3 at a time to keep stocked up when Chloe deserves a treat!

This toy lasted quite a lot longer than the other chew toys I have gotten which is why it is getting a 3 rating. Guess I have an aggressive chewy 🐕 I would still recommend this product.

Every one of these Tuffy toys is beautiful and precious. My dog loves each and every stuffed and takes a long time to destroy them! Thank heavens!

My dog tears up most toys within 15 to 20 minutes of "play" but she had her Hilda Hippo for over a year before she destroyed her. Thats why I bought her a second one for christmas this year and she was so happy!

I really want to rate this higher because my pup loved it immediately, but it didn't hold up to his determination to tear it to pieces. Within five minutes, he found a weakness, and it was all down hill from there. Now, to be clear, he's still loving it, as he tears it to pieces.

Well the black bear was his "favorite” and unfortunately was the first to get its face ripped off by my 1 year old Great Dane. The hippo is going strong, he doesn’t seem to prefer the hippo, which as a squeaker. So perhaps purple isn’t his favorite color?

I cannot buy enough of these toys. My dog loves stuffed animals but he shreds them, so we buy one of these every few months instead and they actually last more than 2 minutes.

Took less than three minutes to chew down to a bunch of cotton stuffing. Advertised for tough chewers? What a joke! Don’t waste your money on these toys. I purchased based on many good reviews.
