Best Tape for Tubular Tires

Using this tape, our team found that it was extremely easy to apply and provided a strong bond between the tire and the rim. It saved us a lot of time and hassle compared to using traditional glue. The tape also helped dampen road vibration, providing a smoother ride. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey compared to other gluing options. Nonetheless, it's worth the investment for anyone serious about their cycling experience. A must-have for sports and outdoors enthusiasts.

Pros
  • Quick and easy to apply.
Cons
  • May cause difficulty in removing the tire from the rim.

Tufo tape works great

Tubular had to be reinstalled after front hub conversion. I cleaned the wheel thoroughly with an aerosol cleaner and the slime was gone, then I wiped the slime off with another cleaner. Then I carefully glued the tape and pressed the tire. Deflate the tire and follow the package directions. After inflation, the tire bulged a little. After deflating and moving the wheel to center and then pumping it back up it got better but still the bulge. After about 4-5 days the bump disappeared and the tire

Expensive. Only one wheel is worth the band

Does what it should. It's a little thick. It's definitely easier to mount the tire straight than with glue, but mounting the tire on the rim was tricky because the tape doesn't fully adhere to the tire until you peel off the backing. However, no comparison. Glue is much better and much cheaper! Is that enough for a bike? Indeed, the advantages of glue are that you can mount and remount tires simply by applying a fresh coat of glue once or twice before having to take them off! This stuff isโ€ฆ

  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Vulgarity
