They protect children from the sun. But they don't stop. They were too big for my windows even though they were the right size. The velcro that holds them didn't work, it kept coming off. Now we have a loud popping noise when moving. We had to take them off.

Probably the best purchase I've made for my road trip. Provides air circulation and prevents insects from entering. Dark enough for privacy and everything was fine even during an unexpected overnight downpour. (Obviously it didn't block ALL the moisture from the rain but stopped it from flooding the car so it was useful) Easy to install, remove and adjust.

The first recommended set (perhaps according to reviews) was too small. Someone recommended Wednesday. I returned them. Came back to the site to read carefully and he recommended the big ones for my particular van. I liked about 4 inches to close my window. I gave them away because I was in a hurry to leave. Ex Large would probably fit, but I don't want to continue ordering. The quality looked good but if they don't cover your window completely then it's no good.

Fits very well for travel. We have summers when the temperature is over 100 degrees for a few days, which is good when the car is cool when it's hot outside and I have to park on the street. It's also nice when I have to breastfeed my baby in the car and I need some privacy. When driving, unless it's screwed tight, it looks kind of lame and like I have packages in front of the windows. The concept is great and it's great for shade but it doesn't cover the bottom of the window no matter how you adjust it it has a gap. Bugs can still get in relatively easily if you roll down the window. (This gap is on every car I've seen with one, not just mine.) Also, the adhesive strip doesn't stick properly once it gets hot, and I have to reapply it every time I open the door. Overall I still like it better than curtains stuck to the window. It just needs some design work.

So not sure what the suction is but the velcro works great as long as you clean the surface you are sticking it to before you put it on tighten (I recommend an alcohol wipe). ). It blocks the sun well and also makes a great window screen if you have kids who like to throw their toys out the window. It's a little hard to see, but not enough to bother me while driving. This is my second set, the first to have left on my car for a full year, all weather, before needing a replacement.
