The patterns are really unique and fun but very difficult to read.

Acknowledge creativity and that's it. The patterns are really unique and fun but very difficult to read. I suppose I should have done more research before purchasing but I was expecting to see the samples in full color and see the full images of the designs. I'm afraid I might go blind trying to make out tiny characters in black and white. Not So Cute Cross Stitch Patterns

Like the author, I consider myself an unconventional cross stitcher. I love crafts and the art of sewing, but I find most cross stitch patterns (cute animals, samplers, etc.) dated and boring. I would be surprised if there was even a book in the world where each pattern spoke to a person. I've done several projects so far (including Calaveras [sugar skulls], tromp l'oeil style skull and water scenes, vampire "Bite Me" theme) and I plan to do more when I have other projects (particularly…

Well put together but not great.

I'm a fan of creating my own projects and this book doesn't allow me to do that at all. I think the design they offer is cool but you can't see what the finished product will look like, the patterns are laid out with different symbols making it difficult to imagine when you look at them and you can't most don't even see the full pattern as the book mostly only shows cropped images of the finished project. This wouldn't be too much of a problem if the book didn't suggest you use the drawings to…
