Nitrate Killer - Fish and Aquatic Animals

Works great. I have a heavily fattened salt water dilution plant. On the 3rd day I had a small plaque of bacteria, which disappeared on the 5th day. I use them in a small fosbane reactor with 2 small fish with npx screens and foam removed. Excellent goods.

Great for fish and aquatic animals

I have two of these reactors in my 75 gallon saltwater aquarium: Reactor #1 contains 150g Phosbane GFO media. This works for phosphate removal, but I will try switching to a medium with larger grains as they are so small that they fall through the bottom lip of the reactor causing rising water to move and I am not getting a uniform flow through the medium . I'll update this in a few weeks when I switch media. I will probably switch to Seachem's Phosguard. Reactor #2 uses TLF NPX bioplastic…

Pros
  • Two Little Fishies Npx Bioplastic Polymer
Cons
  • Quality

Unlike my regular bio pellets that I buy, this product will cloud your water even after you rinse it out. My water remained cloudy for almost 24 hours, even with a 700 GPH backflow! In addition, this product will clog unless fed at a high flow rate. My reactor is connected to my return line with a 1000 GPH pump and from time to time I need to increase the flow rate to avoid clogging. In addition, the amount of by-products from biopellets is insane! There are sponges in my reactor and the…

Complete madness! Attention

I also have a two little fish reactor (small version up to 150 gallons). I also purchased upgraded plastic filters to make this product compatible with the reactor. I hooked it up to my 280 gph pump that I use for phosphate medium (mind you, I only poured enough product for 50 gallons) and the beads just sat there. Bioballs must be in constant motion. I ordered a 590 GPH pump and the balls barely bounced! I had to remove the T-valves to examine the restriction and run tubing directly in and out
