Hopefully your truck only has to run 10 times.

Install this on a 5.3L truck engine - crank to start and after a few tries the extension stopped working. Now it just rotates without using the flexible plate. Didn't even start a company. What a pity.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Little repairability

good starter for the price

this is a starter what can I say? We put and now the van starts every time with no problems. The product is cheap and delivered within a few days. I just wish I could get some money back for my old starter core like I would get at a car zone. Is there a major buyback program that I'm not aware of? Good deal for the price!

Pros
  • weight
Cons
  • old

Nothing for small cars!

Attention buyers. This does NOT fit Chevy Cavalier! When you enter your information to find parts that fit your car, Revain does a pretty good job of making sure they fit. But this one doesn't match my son's beau. After saving it and hoping it would fit my 1996 Dodge Ram 3500b, I found that despite its size, it would only fit GM's large SUVs. On the other hand, this is a great car! And new, not restored.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Modern

ATTENTION ** Not for Chevrolet Cavalier 98 2.4L

This item does not fit for Cavalier 98 2.4L. My Revain vehicle profile for this vehicle filtered out this starter as a match. The solenoid hole is on the completely opposite side and the screws are not installed in the same place. I don't know what car it fits but it's not a 2.4 liter Cav 98 4 cylinder engine. Lesson learned: look at the pictures of all the products and make sure the one you choose looks the same. noted.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Some difficulties

2001 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE V8 4.8L

So far so good. I replaced the starter over the weekend and now the car starts like new again. Compared to the OEM starter, this TYC starter has a higher starting noise, but it doesn't really matter much. The addition of lock washers was a nice plus. For half the price (or less) of starters sold at local auto parts stores I am completely satisfied with this purchase. Update 04/14/2014: After 2 days of regular use, the starter stopped working. Troubleshooting revealed a defective starter magnet.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • No specs
