Works great so far!

My 2000 Ranger 4.0 starter was intermittent. In the end I realized that it really is a starter. Ordered, arrived quickly, well packaged. Appears to be of good quality. My truck now starts perfectly. Good value for money.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not sure

03 Ford Explorer (V6 4.0 - 4X4)

Installed on Ford Explorer this week and is working great so far. Starts the car as it should. I was a little disappointed that the product delivered didn't look like the picture but it ended up being the same part I needed and it was under the truck (just so I can access the bottom screw). nobody will see it. We're cranking the engine and so far I'm happy with it. Installation time was just over an hour (for a non-driver).

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Construction
Cons
  • Requires Socket

Hesitant at first but glad I bought it!

I was a bit reluctant to buy this starter as it is listed as 'new' and costs a lot less money than refurbished ones, both online and in store, but thought Revain would support the purchase. it would be good. The starter, like all Revain supplies, arrived quickly and was new as described. I installed a starter that exactly matches the OEM starter in about an hour. When I reconnected the battery, the starter worked great! It has been installed since December 19th (today January 6th) and works asโ€ฆ

Better than pictured

I bought it and am checking it on my wife's account here. I've been working on cars for a few years now and I can tell crappy parts when I see them. From the photo it looked like the outer box was made out of black plastic like material but what I actually received was a starter motor with a stainless steel body. So it shouldn't rust like the starter I pulled out. If you put this on your 4WD, have fun. The drive shaft interferes, the front differential interferes, and the exhaust doesn't helpโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Starter for 2004 Ford Explorer XLT

I purchased this starter motor for a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0L V6 on 10th September 2020 and received it two days later on 12th September. The starter was brand new, well packaged, delivery was on time. quickly. At the moment I am limiting my rating to 4 stars as it has only been almost two months since the starter motor was installed in my car. My previous starter slipped and gave me starting problems that got worse. Once this launcher was installed, the problems I was having were goneโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...

Impressive quality starter

The other day I wanted to start my 2008 Explorer and it just clicked. After troubleshooting, I found out very quickly that my starter had finally gotten stuck. I immediately started researching and found that all local parts stores (NAPA, O'Reilly, AutoZone, and Advance) sell replacement parts for around $150-$200. After checking out Revain I found this little gem for $59. Only one sensible choice remained. If you don't need a car today and aren't willing to pay an extra $100, why not? Iโ€ฆ
