🚗 TYC 97-09 Ford Explorer 4.0L V6 Automatic Transmission (97 2nd Production) Starter Review

My 2000 Ranger 4.0 starter was intermittent. In the end I realized that it really is a starter. Ordered, arrived quickly, well packaged. Appears to be of good quality. My truck now starts perfectly. Good value for money.

Installed on Ford Explorer this week and is working great so far. Starts the car as it should. I was a little disappointed that the product delivered didn't look like the picture but it ended up being the same part I needed and it was under the truck (just so I can access the bottom screw). nobody will see it. We're cranking the engine and so far I'm happy with it. Installation time was just over an hour (for a non-driver).

I was a bit reluctant to buy this starter as it is listed as 'new' and costs a lot less money than refurbished ones, both online and in store, but thought Revain would support the purchase. it would be good. I bought it and am checking it on my wife's account here. I've been working on cars for a few years now and I can tell crappy parts when I see them. From the photo it looked like the outer box was made out of black plastic like material but what I actually received was a starter motor with a stainless steel body. So it shouldn't rust like the starter I pulled out. If you put this on your 4WD, have fun. The drive shaft interferes, the front differential interferes, and the exhaust doesn't help…
