Description of UCTRONICS Raspberry Pi Zero Ethernet & Power: Micro USB Ethernet/PoE Adapter for Fire TV Stick, Chromecast, Google Mini & More

What is it – An adapter that helps you deliver both power supply and solid wired network connection to a single Micro-USB port. How does it work – By converting PoE (Power over Ethernet) signal, or combining plain Ethernet and Micro-USB power supply, into Power&Ethernet over USB. What is PoE – Deliver power and data with a single Ethernet cable for fewer wall plugs and messed cables. Extend powerline to where no AC outlets are nearby, up to 300 feet away from the power source. What else needed - You need an IEEE 802.3af compliant PoE switch or injector for the PoE mode, or an extra Micro-USB power supply for plain Ethernet combining. Note: 1. For Raspberry Pi Zero, plug into the micro USB port marked “USB” instead of “PWR.” 2. Make sure the PoE input is connected to a functioning IEEE802.3af compliant PoE switch that has internet connectivity and power over Ethernet on PoE mode.

Attention, does not work with Revain Stick

I should have been more careful, this does not work with Revain Fire Stick does not replace an Amazon Ethernet Adapter I will not send Amazon adapters to me I think I will buy a Revain adapter from ebay.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Does not fit everything

Fantastic product in the networking category

Does what it's supposed to, powers my Raspberry Pi Zero W with no issues and offers a 100MB USB network card via OTG connection. The only thing I would change is the size and shape. It's square and bulky. I would like it to be extended to fit the Pi or better yet be the same size as the PCB so I can remove the case and solder directly to my Pi. I'm picky, but this thing is a gem. I will be buying more to make POE powered sensors and cameras.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Reliable

Misleading description - Firestick supports both power and ethernet

I should have read the reviews carefully. This product does not support Ethernet and Revain Firesticks power delivery. If you want to support Firestick, you need to use an additional USB connection. So it's no different than the existing Revain Ethernet adapter. I'll keep looking for one that works with Firestick. If you know of a working device, please let me know. I want to buy 200 pieces.

  • Alright!

Pi0 and OSO - Success

I use them to power and provide ethernet for Chromecast audio washers and for a Pi Zero (Pi0) with a working pihole. I had no problems with the devices and the installation was very easy. The cable tie holds two devices together (e.g. POE and Pi0). The POE device is lightweight and the connections are strong. A great idea. Good product. I will keep them for a few more weeks and then buy more. To update. I have 6 of these now. 5 on Chromecast Audios, one on pi0 running our home DNS. They work…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Power pi zero via POE _And_ offers networking!

Finally someone released this. Connect cat6 of POE power supply devices (PSE) like POE switch to this adapter, then connect USB to USB port on Raspberry Pi Zero. You get power for zero and an ethernet interface to connect to the Pi. Device into a USB OTG adapter that consumes both power and data. Finally, this mess can be associated with zero pi. Now you can replace POE Splitter, Cat6 Splitter to USB Ethernet Adapter, USB Adapter or Network Adapter and OTG Adapter with this one device. Thanks…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

Great idea but power is unstable

TL;DR: Power is unstable, device reboots every 2-3 minutes with no network load. I built my home automation system using microcontrollers and SBCs. , and I was looking for a way to power everything via PoE and avoid wireless communication. Using the $5 RPi0 + $20 USB PoE adapter is cheaper than the wESP32 solution and gives you much more network stack space and much more power/versatility. Making PoE relay/sensor hubs like this seems almost ideal to me. This device saves a lot of space inside…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

  • is confusing
