I have a lot of experience ordering UGREEN products including working directly with the Shenzhen HQ on large B2B orders. Their build quality is exceptional, but you pay more for it. I am willing to pay a higher price for their branded products; Although this USB-C hub is well built and lightweight, it gets pretty hot after only 4 hours of use on my MacBook. I'm starting to wonder if the device I received might have been defective.

I don't know if it's my range or combination of devices, but the connections are very unstable. I have an iPhone stand, remote speakers, and a remote drive that all connect and disconnect randomly. Sometimes the speaker shows power but doesn't register as an audio device (but works fine with another hub), and the drive throws some "disk not ejected properly" warnings indicating multiple plugging and unplugging during the course. Day. I love the design but it just doesn't work effectively.

I have been using UGREEN products for over 4 years and I am very satisfied with their quality and durability. Got it for my Surface Pro 7 and it worked great as always. I strongly recommend this. The only problem with this new model is the short Type-C cable, especially on Surface laptops, it hangs down at the top of the connector (see pictures). UGREEN support, if you're reading this, try adding a small C-type extender to the package (and please send it to me if possible!).

I connected this to my Macbook Air running Big Sur with an ethernet connection and a VGA connection, sometimes using the USB ports. In general, the adapter works fine: the Ethernet connection is stable, but the only problem is the VGA connection. I had two hubs from different manufacturers, both of which were not working properly. The UGREEN hub is a bit bigger than them, with no protective case and no power LED, but it works and supports my Plantronics BT600 adapter and microSD cards. I bought this hub on purpose because it had a full-size (ie non-swivelling) ethernet port. I wish the VGA port had been replaced with something more modern and useful, but my plan was to just use two USB ports and an Ethernet port. Well, the ethernet port was completely non-functional. Works well but I have a few minor complaints. As previously mentioned, the USB-C cable that plugs into your laptop is hardwired to the device. So if that cable ever fails, the device becomes unusable. As others have pointed out, the hard wire is also fairly short. I plugged it in and the USB ports worked as did the HDMI port, but again the Ethernet port didn't work.
