Frequency numbers for security and surveillance systems

I can't hear the scanner because of missing frequency numbers. I was told that when I bought this scanner they should have given me a list of #s as it is not digital. Can you please provide me with a list otherwise I will have to come back when I can listen to it. Thank you Lorraine Lopez.

    Uniden BC365CRS Scanner

Very happy with reception in my area (semi-rural) using only the telescopic antenna provided. I particularly like the limit search function of this radio. This scanner is similar to the Whistler WS1025 which does not have the search restriction feature that determines which scanner I ended up buying. Opinion: Unnecessary features in this scanner are an alarm clock and FM radio.

    Much better than expected.

Excellent reception and fairly easy setup. It gets good reception with the standard antenna, but I hooked it up to my J-Pole which I've optimized for GMRS/UHF ham. WOW, that's over 70 channels on 2m, in the air and of course 440+. Weather radio and FM are good too. I wish there was a way to just turn the knob to set FM, but that's fine. It seems to be of good quality, comfortable knobs and buttons, it has a backup battery, and now I use it as an alarm clock. The sound isn't bad for a small…

    Best value for money

So far so good - received it today and coordinated it with my local emergency/weather service and programmed my favorite FM radio stations. Two things I was really impressed with was the signal strength - for an antenna smaller than most car antennas, it picks up a lot more than my car ever has. The second is the speaker. WOW, this kid can make a serious sound. I only have it halfway on and I can hear it throughout the house. Headphone jack if you want to connect something more. The backlight…

    Great desktop scanner!

I bought this unit hoping it would have better sound quality than the small portable Baefeng I also have. I was not disappointed. It sounds nice and clear and also stays on the channel longer so you can hear the entire conversation as the baofeng switches to the next channel after the split second it paused in the conversation. It features a black backlit display that can be toggled on and off and a telescopic antenna. I live in a densely populated small town on the east coast and I can get a…

    LARGE ANALOG SCANNER

Are you reading some of these reviews? Some reviews are true, some are false and some are utter nonsense. It's easy to judge if this scanner is right for you. If you like listening to analog PD, this is for you. If you're looking for 800 megabytes, you're out of luck either. Personally, my county police force (MORRIS COUNTY NJ) is fully digitized in the county system. I have a digital scanner for that. It's next to the bed to fall asleep to, yes I really can sleep with it. I live about 30 miles

Stop complaining about missing cable channels!

For beginners, the sound quality can be improved. My PDA sounds better and even has a bigger speaker. This speaker is tiny. Don't complain about the lack of trunking ability. You get what you pay for! Trunked scanners typically cost $300 to $500. For the roughly $60 you're paying, don't expect a digital or trunk connection. The BNC antenna will fall down if you do not position the antenna horizontally. The bayonet slots had to be oriented differently to allow the antenna to stand on its own…

    What the manual doesn't say

Works and is well made but there are a few quirks to be aware of and the manual is disappointing. If you're frustrated trying to get him to do something, you're not alone! First, note that this scanner does not support channel naming or CTCSS/DCS noise reduction. This is a carrier only squelch. If you need these features, you need the next model, BCT15X. Next I programmed my scanner as follows: - One bank are the frequencies for ham radio calls. - A bank are local amateur radio repeaters. - A…

    Cons
    • A shady purchase for the elderly

I chuckle a bit when some reviewers say it's too hard to program. If you can type numbers and press a button, that's enough to program the frequency into the scanner. The main problem of many dissatisfied people is that they do not contact RadioReference and do not check the types of radio systems used in their area. Some areas have switched to trunked radio systems and digital transmission, and some are encrypted and no scanner can track them. You can still monitor most unencrypted bundled or…
