Both the handle and the cap are the same brand, I assembled both exactly according to the instructions provided and the $33 top doesn't fit fully . As you can see from the pictures (sorry for the orientation) when one side of the top is flush with the side of the spring the other side of the top is not. I bought a Midwest exercise pen and although I didn't think I would need it (our pup was a tiny toy Aussie) I ordered it at the same time. just in case! X-Pen wire/mesh is great and CAN be used in dual configuration! The corners of the top, where one vertical "bump" meets another, have a small gap, allowing the X-Pen's side panel to pass through.
