I've got air conditioning again!: Replacement Parts

Replacing the cabin temperature sensor was no easy task, but if you can pull it off, this replacement part works like a charm. My 2001 A4 B5 Quattro Wagon could sense the temp right away and turned the A/C back on. Hallelujah.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Disappearance

Fits Passat with Climatronic

2002 with Climatronic. The diagnosis revealed problems with the fresh air intake temperature sensor, so I bought it. Easy replacement if you remove the glove box and under hood cover. Now no hot air blows at me in the middle of summer because the new sensor solved the problem!

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Fits Passat

This sensor is also known as the G89 cabin sensor on a 1999 VW Passat GLX.

No more temperature spikes and readings up to 22 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer. If your car has a temperature that acts intermittently, that's the guy. Fitted behind the glove box. I hope this review will help you to fix your car air conditioner. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I will try to answer you and help you in any way I can. Good luck and keep your car running by switching every 5km.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not as thick as other sensors

Revain says it doesn't fit my Passat but it fits

Revain said it doesn't fit my Passat with automatic temperature control but it fits very well and has fixed the problem. It looks a little different from the original part (the original was black and had a slightly longer stem) but the part number matches the old one exactly and it fits and snaps securely into the channel slot. The Climatronic no longer counts the temperature in the duct as -45 degrees, so the air conditioning is now working normally. VW wants about $50 for OEM so it was a good

Pros
  • A few competitors
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Works perfectly on my Audi.

Not much to say about that. It fits and works. I installed it a few weeks ago after running an HVAC code scan and getting a G89 sensor error code. I've cleared the error and rescanned several times and it's been very consistent. After I installed these, the code no longer appeared and the dashboard display showed the correct temperature without hesitation, as it had for the past few months. Time will tell about durability, but so far I'm happy. .Update: It's been 9 months and it's still working

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are flaws
