The roll hangs on the frame because the frame has a design that has rounded corners next to the roll and the roll hangs on it. The reel is also very sloppy and needs to have some kind of bushing to keep the males rolling evenly. Terrible product.

Screw loosened 3 minutes after tightening. The hex recesses are so shallow that I had a hard time screwing them back in with a hex wrench. First I smeared it with red Loctite to make sure it held. The rest of the work (soundproofing my jeep) seemed acceptable.

This scooter made my car soundproof but I had to attach the scooter to the handle several times. The screw kept turning, and luckily it didn't roll into a no-man's-zone every time, so no one else would see it. As I said, I managed to fix a car, but I will not buy this rink again. Pay a little more and make your life a lot easier.

Works well. One of the bolts holding the reel to the handle came loose immediately and I had to fiddle around and find an Allen wrench to tighten it. Also, I used it to press onto a Noico 80 mil car soundproofing mat that has an aluminum foil backing. The edges of this roll were too sharp and cut through the film so I just cut the edge from 90 degrees to 45 with a sharp razor blade and the problem was solved. Otherwise it works well and it's inexpensive and does it.

This pillow is well constructed with screws on each end to keep it in place. Most other reels have nothing to hold the reel in place. So when you press on the reel, the reel usually falls apart fairly easily. Because this reel has screws to hold each side of the reel in place, it won't fall apart at all, even under heavy pressure. I have used this roller to numb my entire trunk and doors and it has not given me any problems. Where the other reels I have used fell apart within minutes of use. So

It worked for my purposes but don't buy it if you need something for long term use. The pulley is loose on the shaft and the set screw holding it to the yoke tends to loosen after a few passes with it. You can probably get away with a drop of Loctite and you'll be fine. The roller itself has minimal flexibility, but it is enough not to damage the surface.
