Do not connect a factory amp without one

I hooked up new front speakers and tweeters to my 2014 Tahoe and there was just no sound. I ordered a Thai block and of course connected the speakers and tweeter the wrong way around. Beat the $14 I spent on a car audio system.

Cheap and effective + comes with CD test signals

I have found with this product that all my standard speakers are out of phase. I installed non-genuine jbl speakers and had no problem getting everything in phase, especially as the tweeters were not properly connected to the product. I even noticed that my Veloster friend had 1 of her 5 front speakers out of phase. And she bought it brand new

Pros
  • Convenient item
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Test signals for the measuring device.

If you need sound to read the meter here is a working YouTube video I played it and it was accurate for the noise it showed when it was showing + for the phase the meter also showed green and when it was displayed - due to a phase mismatch, the meter showed red. So hope this helps, it took me a while to find something that worked. [.]

A disadvantage of diagnostic, test and measuring tools

functions, as well as the disadvantage that the necessary test tones are on the supplied CD in CD audio format. You'll need to convert to a different audio file type to test a head unit that doesn't have a CD player option. Many families no longer have laptops or PCs that accept CDs to convert a file to a USB flash drive for non-CD master devices. The seller must include some form of instructions and indicate where the files can be downloaded in MP3 or other usable format.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Large and clumsy

Just use your smartphone! Polarity app!

Just use your smartphone. It didn't come with the CD. You can easily download polarity test app on your phone for free. Connect your phone to your stereo via Bluetooth or use an extra cable. The app already contains a pulse used to check polarity, out of phase with the speakers. There are several uses. This device is obsolete.

Didn't work, waste of money.

Installed a new Kenwood car stereo with new speakers and wanted to check speaker polarity. No instructions but should be pretty easy. When testing different speakers, the indicator light jumped back and forth from minus to plus. A DVD player is required, but files can be extracted from disc to USB files. You would think that the sellers would provide/post a link. Didn't work with my car radio anyway.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Big and chunky

It did the job

Don't expect anything too high tech. This is a very simple device that takes some getting used to. Once you get comfortable with it and understand how far you need to keep it from the speaker, it will do the job. This unit does not come with a CD, so you'll need to go online and download the audio tracks to do the actual polarity test (which can be a bit tricky to find). Also, the green light for positivity is very dim and you need to work in a darker place or cover it with your hand to see it.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Quality

It turns out my tweets have been out of phase for years.

Some time ago I installed my own radio. Picked this up on a whim to check polarity on a car speaker. It takes a 9V battery which is not included and in the 21st century I don't have any (so I stole one from the multimeter). Quite easy. I copied the CD that came with it (all in Chinese but it's obvious which track is the polarity test because it's a series of pops). Turn on the MP3 player on my car stereo, turn down the volume (so other speakers don't interfere), hold the meter to the speaker…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged
