Description of ๐ŸŒฒ 1" Vapor Barrier Christmas Tree Fasteners for Crawl Space: Ideal Solution for Moisture Barriers and Encapsulations (100 count)

APPLICATIONS: Vapor Barrier Fasteners are used for mounting and securing a plastic moisture barrier to the foundation walls and pillars in the crawl space. Can also be used for automotive repair applications. SPECIFICATIONS: Vapor Barrier Fasteners are approximately 1 inch long. Actual dimensions are 22.7mm in length by 7.5mm in width with the diameter of the cap measuring 18mm. INSTALLATION: Drill a hole, using a 1/4" masonry bit or smaller, into the wall and then attach wall liner with christmas tree fastener. SEAM AND SEAL: Using Butyl Tape or Vapor Barrier Tape really helps for a sealed and secure vapor barrier. FOR THAT FINISHED LOOK: When encapsulating a crawl space, consider using capped vapor barrier stakes as well.

Hold tight. good for fasteners

They worked fine. Easy to use. Mounted on 2" insulation. I drilled a hole with a Phillips screwdriver with a small shank. Hot snug fit that holds up very well.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Minor issues

Great for underground vapor barriers

Installed 100 of these small fasteners using a 1/4" masonry bit and impact drill. Be careful, they are difficult to remove once installed.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Only available in black

Suitable for underground

I used these fasteners to attach the plastic cover over the insulating foam boards to the underground. I used glue to hold the lid in place but wanted extra mechanical support and it worked great.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Reliable

Crawl space vapor barrier support pins

IMPORTANT! If you have hired someone to install a vapor barrier in your basement, make sure they secure the vapor barrier that goes up to the foundation wall with plastic support pins. These plastic pins are easy to insert, but a small hole must be drilled in the concrete block to insert the pin. If you don't do this, the tape holding the vapor barrier to the wall will eventually fail (after the contractor has left) and the barrier will slip and stop doing its job.

Pros
  • GOLS Certificate
