Good lathe at fair price

Shipping was timely, packaging good,no damage. Pillow block on right end of leadscrew needed .030 removed so half nut did not drag.Missing flat spring in crosslide feed dial.Fabricated new one from feeler gage.Missing 4 gears from package that the front panel chart calls for common threads, perhaps I received doubles of whatever the packagers had on hand. The manual states different gears for threads than the front cover chart.Other than that plenty of power and reasonable accuracy!50 years +…

2nd base at best: my feedback

This machine although is quite capable of doing everything it's supposed to will need a lot of small details hammered out. Oh and for sure your going to need to order gears because they probably won't send them all to you. Do yourself a favor and just tear it down and rebuild it right. You'll see what I mean.

Pros
  • 400mm Large Swing Range: The benchtop lathe is equipped with a 3-jaw chuck. Swing Over Bed: 8-1/4" (210 mm) and Swing Over Cross Slide: 15-3/4" (400mm) offers more possibilities for large size or/and heavy workpieces.
Cons
  • The benchtop design may limit the size and weight of the metal pieces that can be worked on

Needs a lot of work had some trouble but the co worked with me to get things done it was a little hard dealing thought Revain wish I could have deal direct but the job did get done thanks for the response from the main co now after a short time the main board let go again i would not buy this item had nothing but trouble thay told me to return it for a refun that cost me 280.00 now they told me there is no refun and when i tried to get parts i was told they don,t sale any parts please do not…

Pros

Cons
  • Tool box with chuck was missing. Box was damaged and strapped back together. Very disappointed.

Don't waste your money.

After having this lathe for about a month, the speed control board shorted out and stopped working. I found the manufacturer (VEVOR a Chinese company), emailed and called them repeatedly. After much useless discussion, they said that they have the controller in stock, but they would not send it to me because I could not show a receipt. I bought the lathe from the original owner who had it for a year. I told them that it is customary to sell parts for what you manufacture, and I tried working…

Pros
  • absolutely great machine,,and very accurate, exceeded my expectations
Cons
  • I think it was the best i could buy for the money, but not the least expensive.

Bryan King - variable speed lathe review

Package was sturdy and contained everything without damage. The lathe is powerful enough to cut chromoly. I have tested mild steel, chromoly, and aluminum so far. The harder metals have a rough surface cut but that could be my cutting speed to the tooling as well. The cross slide has developed some slop as I have used it but adjusting the gibs solved that problem. The machine was fairly Trammed our of the crate otherwise. The only issue I have unresolved is a lose tool rest. I need to…

Decent lathe for the money

This is a decent lathe for the money. I did have an issue with their electronic circuit board being faulty. After contacting the seller they wanted me to take out the motherboard and have a local electrical supply store fix it LOL. After contacting Revain about the issue they forced them to send me a new motherboard. Also one of the belt drives snapped and it has been impossible to try to find a replacement belt that’s exactly the same size. I did find a smaller one that works but it slowed the

Tailstock can’t be centered from factory

Title says it all. While the value might seem great, the entire thing is sloppily and shoddily put together. Even after tearing down the tailstock and fixing an extremely loose screw used to center it, this is the closest I’ve been able to get the tailstock centered. If you’re looking for something to precision lathe work on, look elsewhere. If all you care about are doing tapers, then I guess this is the lathe for you.

Cons
  • The price point may be too high for those on a tight budget looking for a basic metal lathe

Very dissatisfied customer with the lathe.

I had to make some major modifications to tail stock to get it to work, the hand wheel would not turn. They reimbursed me $300.00 for that problem. All the dials on tail stock, carriage, cross feed and angle feed all are in metric which I don't like. It will not cut most of the Standard American threads ie; 13, 16, 18, 8, threads per inch. very very hard the be able to communicate with a support group, if you lucky enough to get someone to help you. Would never buy it again or anything from…
