I got this because it has a zoom lens with adjustable focus which most other webcams don't have. It works fine on my desktop. Compared to many other non-zoom webcams, it has a narrow field of view, so it may not be suitable for a conference table. I use it at the widest angle on my desk, so my face almost fills the screen. Very compact palm-sized camera or even smaller. Easy to set up as it is a plug and play USB camera. The only drawback is the focus. It's very, very delicate. Mine was easy to focus at wide, but anything even close to the telephoto lens made the image so blurry it was impossible to see. Depending on the purpose of purchase, this is either a plus or a minus. Depth of Field and Focus Point. I like the zoom function and the adjustable aperture (iris), the downside is that the focus point moves as you adjust the zoom. So when you go from 50mm to 20mm, not only does the image change, it also refocuses. So zooming in to focus and then zooming out is a futile task.
