This is a good price for an Airplay speaker even though it's only an Airplay 1. I wish it didn't turn off though - I'd love to be able to send airplay to this speaker without having it first to basically boot it up. I understand that a battery powered device will turn itself off, but this is not required when plugged in. The download takes a long time as the attached video shows.

Good bluetooth. Unusable Wi-Fi.

When using the app, you can only use four services (as of 09/16/17): TuneIn, iHeartRadio, Spotify and TIDAL. The product description lists 8 services and then adds the word "and more". I planned to use Pandora and GooglePlay. Neither is supported, but Pandora was explicitly listed in the product description. I figured he could at least record his own sound and put it out through the speaker. This is only possible via Bluetooth or Line-In. So what I bought was an expensive portable bluetooth…

terrible - Amazon's choice? Really

This is a three way review hoping it helps someone else. burn b2 works as advertised, a bit unreliable, a dedicated computer with special software (unknown) might be just as/better. Mine has gone nuts a few times and usually imports at high speed. It was recorded slowly on several CDs and then imported quickly, and Cathy Matea sounded like a chipmunk. I first paired this with Phillips Izzy speakers, it worked but there was a 20 second delay. I buy 2 types of Varo, Sidekick and Cube. This was a…

Worst speaker advertised

First of all, the sound is what it is. For the price it's just sound, it's not great sound because the bass is poorly controlled and at low levels rivals even a $5 speaker. But when it reaches its maximum, everything becomes the same. Even the worst. Because the bass gets really "high" but it starts to compress and distort a bit. I don't know if this is my unit but there is a strange noise like a rattling even at low levels so I think mine is broken. Speaking of connectivity, it's worse than…

Slow start but works well

I was looking for a waterproof bathroom speaker and didn't want to use a Bluetooth speaker as it automatically connects to the last device when I turn it on. This doesn't work for me because the kids and I all have to use the same speaker in the bathroom when we need to take a shower etc. AirPlay makes it easy to play audio on your device and then just select the speaker from the Airplay menu. Initially I had some trouble connecting and setting up the speaker to Wi-Fi, but I finally figured it…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Minor issues

On the plus side, setup was fairly easy and it's nice to have the same source on multiple speakers in different rooms. One works just as well as my Sony X5 bluetooth speaker. The sound isn't bad, just not outstanding. They take a while to connect to your Wi-Fi network, which is annoying because, as others have said, they disconnect after 30 minutes without logging out. Watching videos with them does not work, there is a serious problem with sound synchronization due to the Wi-Fi connection…

  • Absolutely amazing!

Great sound, easy to use, unbeatable price. only one

With one small caveat I love this product. I bought three of these to sync together and use together for my small outdoor wedding in October. The cost of all three was equivalent to the amount I would spend to rent (deliver, install, return) a pair of speakers, after which I can keep them. The app is very intuitive and I was able to sync all three without opening the guide. About a day later I had a few questions (we'll get to that in a moment), so I called the company to chat. First I was…

Love these speakers

I originally bought two Varo SIDEKICK speakers for travel and they are great for that. I've shaken them in hotel rooms from Bangor to Honolulu. They could also make good home speakers for small spaces. I have since purchased several sets of all Varo Wi-Fi speakers and personally have nothing but praise for them. I really like the Varo Wi-Fi speaker line. They are a lot cheaper than the 'other' expensive brands but still work well. I don't care about bluetooth, just wifi. I laugh when I see bad…
