A good strong tool. My four-year-old son likes to cut vegetables and fruit with me and helps me a lot. This is a great purchase that will be used for many years and at a great price. The handle is a comfortable wooden handle and sits on the side like a regular kitchen knife, while the wire handle over the 'blade' provides good control and encourages future proper handling of the kitchen knife.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • For a long time

Works great when veggies are *super* crunchy but not too hard (e.g. very crunchy cucumbers). But something even slightly raw (less crunchy cucumber, apple gets slightly spongy) and something too dense/hard (like carrots) is almost impossible to cut. too heavy? It will fly and you will get hurt. Too soft? They will puree and shred it until it becomes inedible. Great idea but I need a sharper/thinner edge.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • poorly thought out

I don't like the handle on the side

I use corrugated slicers when slicing cucumbers for pickling bread and butter. This fall, I had extra "hands" to help with slicing the cucumbers, so I thought I'd buy a different cutter than what I usually use (the Joie Fruit & Veggie Cutter). Although this cutter had a well placed shaft, we found it to be more difficult to cut than with the joie cutter since the handle is attached to the side of the blade as the joie cutter's handle is directly above the blade .

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Damaged

The best trimmer for big deep combs

I was looking for a new trimmer. It's hard to know how deep the grooves are on all the different cutters unless you see them in person. Most other creasing blades make shorter, wavy cuts/edges. This cutter has bigger/deeper burrs. i have them both I like them both for different purposes. I wish this folding knife didn't have a wooden handle, but I like the overall design. I'm posting pictures of the small wave cutter, this larger comb cutter, and two sliced carrots to show the difference…

Pros
  • Durable finish

I love this sturdy little folding knife!

I have had this trimmer for several years and use it to slice zucchini for vegetable dishes and various dips. I get comments from people wanting to know how I cut their hair so beautifully? I also use it to cut fancy carrot slices which I cook in boiling water until soft, add some butter which melts and the creases hold the butter beautifully. Add a little salt and pepper, a few pinches of dried or fresh parsley and the carrots look so appetizing! Experiment with it on different things…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
