I will never go back to gluing.

Works great (Zipp 303 Firecrest with Conti Competitions). Several people on blogs are suggesting that the carbon version is needed for carbon rims. maybe if I live in the mountains and the rides would be hot. or used a bike for regular crits. but most say that even then it's not too worrisome. I was able to remove the tire with little effort, but it felt like a thumbtack was enough to hold the tire in place. The curb was never an option for Mastic because it was so strong that it oftenโ€ฆ

highly recommended. Clean and tidy quickly!

I've been gluing tubular bicycle tires myself for a long time, about 35 years. I don't think I'll ever use glue again. This tape is much faster/tidier/cleaner. I tape off the (prepared) rim, oil it, inflate the tire at about 20psi, then put a pencil between the tire and rim next to the nipple. The twist of the pencil allows enough slack to remove the protective paper layer from the exposed tape. Keep moving little by little, guiding the wheel straight ahead. When everything is ready, pump it up

Cheap. Easy to install/remove. Reliable adhesion.

GOOD / Cheap. Easy to install/remove. Reliable adhesion. THE BAD / If the surface is flat you won't have enough stickiness to hold a new tub. CONCLUSION / At around $11, the Velox Jantex rim tape is a bargain as it comes with enough tape for 2 wheels. , in contrast to Tufo Tape or Effetto Mariposa rim tape. After driving about 2000 miles in heat, mud and rain, the tape holds up very well with reliable adhesion. Pulling the tire off was easy. Minimal residue was left which may not be ideal ifโ€ฆ

Paper backing sheet tears easily

I agree with the other reviewers here that it's relatively easy compared to messy glue and it's an attractive one too Price is because one A-roll is enough for two wheels. Nothing has been said about durability as only a few days have passed since installation. But I'm deducting two stars because the paper protecting the top of the tape (the one that comes in contact with the tire) tears very easily once you've already attached the tire and torn off the paper. Under him. Installation could be a

Super easy installation!

I used to glue my tires, but it is a very tedious job. Taped tires have always been considered "slowerโ€. I went through all this and decided to try duct tape. The assembly was very easy and due to the tape worth any superstitious "indolence". I applied the tape starting at the valve hole and gently tugged on the tape to give it some tension. Go slow and the tape will land straight and level. Using a small, thin, sharp knife, it's fairly easy to remove some of the plastic from the tape. Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Negative impression

Great material, eliminates the need for messy hose glue. About the same as Tufo pipe tape, at a better price as there are 2 tires in the box instead of just 1 = great value! per year, through hundreds of trips and about 10 races. In fact, the tire wore out first. Just a small learning curve to use. Be sure to use a blow dryer to remove the old tire and most/all of the tape when it comes time to remove the old tire. If you use enough heat, the hoop and tape should come off completely. If notโ€ฆ
