Description of Vermont American 13310 4 Piece Glass
Glass and tile drill bits provide smooth, accurate drilling in ceramic tile, marble, china, mirrors and glass. Spear-pointed tip design reduces breakout and the bit features a carbide tip for extended bit life. For use with drills that have 3/8" or larger chucks.
I bought these to poke holes in various ceramic pots I bought for planting. They work well but take longer than expected (using less pressure to avoid cracking the pot). I am ordering for the second time now because the bits are noticeably wearing and wearing down after a few uses.
I used these to drill through a glass bottle and it worked very well. Use plenty of water to lubricate and these bits will work just fine. Good price for a set and they really work as advertised. I used a 1/4" size to poke a hole in a Jack Daniels Single Barrel (very thick bottle) and it took about 10 minutes to poke a hole in it. DS
Works very well. I bought them to poke holes in wine bottles. If you buy them for this purpose, you can buy smaller lights or a different set of bits. The largest of them didn't have a hole large enough for the garland to pass through and I had to enlarge it entirely. I used the largest nozzle and it worked, but I was afraid I would break the bottle. They do their job and hold up well. Does not become dull after long-term use.
