Be careful with fish and aquatic animals

Worked great for two days then I noticed one of my balala sharks had died and when I was looking for the rest I saw another dead balala shark nearby with a heater that broke in the tank. The glass cracked and I'm guessing my poor fish touched the heater wiring after it broke and exposed, I'm not sure. None of my other fish in the tank have been affected.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Hard to say

Stopped working after about two months

Worked well at first. He died about two months later. The light comes on like it's working, the water is ice cold. I contacted the seller for a refund or a solution and they refused the refund because the return period had expired. However, you would think that in two months time you would see that you are selling a non-existent item and want to fix it. But what can you do? Looking for another heater.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • There are nuances

I made the mistake of buying 3 of these cheap heaters (2x 300w and 1x 200w). Within 2 months (maybe less) one of the 300w died and 8 months later the 200w died. I think the last 300 watts are still working but I don't really think it will last long. Simple math will tell you that 1/3 (33%) is not a very good success rate and certainly not a gamble that I would advise anyone with their expensive aquariums. My advice: pay around $10 for Eheim (probably the best in terms of affordability) or…

10 liters is fine!

I overdid it a bit and got 200 watts (expected increase) for my 10 gallon tank. It floats above the gravel line and the waterline indicator and waterline in my tank are perfect. I've been using it for a week and it seems to be doing a great job of keeping my betta tank warm this winter. If all hell breaks down and the heater goes wrong I will update my new review. So far, so good! Update: Everything is going well! Switched to a 20 gallon tank and still great! He's amazingly strong. I screwed it

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Reliability

Great!*** Not so great anymore.

I bought two with my 75 gallons and they work great. The temperature setting is pretty cool. Within 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit. Very accurate. .5 probably because of my light. All in all a great product. Highly recommended. *** November 29, 2016 Bought two new heaters to replace the burned one. I received two of the same heaters that I previously ordered, plugged them in, let them acclimate for 20 minutes, then plugged them back in. I set it to 79 and let it run overnight. I check them in the…

Works [Updated again after 4 years, still works]

I've had it for a month now and it works like a champ. Just always remember to unplug when changing the water, you should never turn it on while the water is below the waterline. This applies to heaters of any brand. To update! Okay, it's been about 10 months now. Still works like new! Another update! October 29, 20131 and 8 months later and he's still working. The best heater ever! To update! 6/18/2014 Over 2 years This heater still works, I originally used it in a 30 gallon tank. About 6…

Let's call them "recommendations "

First off, let me say this heater works GREAT! Well, when it comes to temperature controller/thermostat accuracy, there's a bit of a learning curve here. It's a little lower than what the gauge says, about 3 degrees - that's what they say after you "calibrate" it with a good thermometer (I used two swimmers for comparison until I saw that both lasted a week displayed the same and the same temperature for a long time ) - I took one out. This heater's "sensor" was set at 80, maybe 82 - the water…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • The list will be long.
