    Maybe I was unlucky but my device stopped working for 2 months.

    Maybe I was unlucky but my device stopped working 2 months after purchase. I've only used it twice. The second time I turned it on he belched once, the display went dead and he went dead as a brick. Switching to another car's 12 volt outlet made no difference. According to the manufacturer's website, sending it in for warranty repair requires postage, a $20 "verification fee," and return shipping. The total cost will likely exceed the purchase price of this product. I hope my experience is notโ€ฆ

    Bought 6 years ago and still running.

    I bought this inflator in October 2014. During those 6 years of use, I blew twice, a DC outlet, a car fuse. The red light on the dashboard has also failed. However, the block itself still works. In fact, 20 minutes ago I just pumped up 2 rear tires on a minivan. Works well but once it hits 30psi the unit slows down and takes longer to reach 35psi. When I bought this bag the unit price was $45 and it didn't come with the bag. I've always left my inflator in the trunk of my car, I've never had aโ€ฆ

    Viair's customer service was great.

    Even though I've had two appliances fail I give this product 4 stars for customer service. The first product failed within the first year. The valve somehow bent during use (maybe a tire ran over it). I paid the shipping cost to ship the device and they sent me a new device. The second device failed 26 months after purchase. The end of the cigarette lighter fuse has become loose over time and has fallen out. Viaair sent me replacement parts even though the warranty had expired. So 26 monthsโ€ฆ

    Useful but at a price.

    I've had this since 2013 (6 years). It just blew its first internal fuse. The fuse is in the cigarette lighter plug. DO NOT disassemble the plastic part to replace the fuse! If you do this you will end up with a complex jumble of parts. Simply rotate the silver circle at the top to remove and replace the old fuse. I also replaced the spring with an old grip spring (SEE BELOW!) It works fine now. The advantage of this compressor is that you don't have to look for an extension cord. The bad newsโ€ฆ

    Quiet, fast and yes, it really is both.

    Damn! I've been looking for this item for years. I bought it with the expectation that it would be pretty much like any other portable air compressor I've ever tried. I actually expected that I would have to send it back. I have 255/75R17 tires on my jeep and when they are low they take some time to inflate. For example, I put them down to walk on soft sand, so I need something that doesn't take all day to fill them up. The day it showed up, the temp dropped and all my tires were a few poundsโ€ฆ

    Heats up and then turns off. If you are not careful, you will find yourself in a difficult position.

    I bought this compressor about 2 years ago and was unfortunately disappointed. Despite great reviews, my compressor has only caused disappointment. I'm not sure if I received a defective unit or if this is just the expected performance for these compressors. I have 17 inch tires, for reference 215/55/17. They are rated for a maximum pressure of 44psi and my automaker's manual recommends inflating the tires to 38psi. This compressor will not inflate the tire above 30psi until it gets too hot and
