Bought for a 16 year old to record VHS to digital - works exactly as described. Simple - virtually no instructions - but you'll figure it out once you put the disc in. Windows recognizes the hardware immediately - there is fairly basic software on the CD.

This adapter works great for camera input. The signal is excellent, this is a must if you need to send video to a computer. Don't let the price fool you, this device is pretty darn handy.

I work in IT and I can't get it to work on Windows 10. Tried different drivers using VLC program. The disc doesn't even start automatically when inserted. I manually opened the .exe to download and it closes automatically without downloading the program to use. The site is useless. The instructions are useless. Save $15 and get something else. If you can't even get the drive right, I don't expect it to work at all.

Mmmmm. Video quality is expectedly poor, but particularly poor even when using S-Video. Worse than just capturing it from my phone screen. Works great with Windows 10. The software that comes with it is not very good, seems to be a very old Windows program. If you use it, the serial number to enter is not on the box (as the instructions say) but on the hard drive in a file called TVR25/SN.txt. No software or drivers on the CD are required. This item couldn't be cheaper. I bought it to convert some old VHS tapes to digital. It "plugged in and works" with no problems on a Windows 7 PC. I used a mini CD to install the capture software, which is fairly easy. You will see a screen asking for a product key. This is not stated on the packaging nor in the literature they provide. For about $10 it's not that bad. Almost every other AV analog to USB converter in the 10-20 price range seems to be this device. You'll get better quality if you get something $30 or more I think.
