Replaced the old 7142v

Replaced the 7142v remote with this one. Thinner than the original. Happy with the replacement. Came in a small bag and no instructions, but a quick google search for programming is probably better than deciphering written instructions.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Periodicity

Read the instructions for your particular Viper system

If programmed in less than a minute but not following the instructions provided. I checked under my dash to see where the remote start brain/computer is and googled the model number. I found the right guide there.

Pros
  • It's done
Cons
  • Too stupid

Decent remote but you'll have to ask VIPER for help programming it

Works with my Viper Alarm and very easy to program. When trying to figure out how to call the Viper they were very helpful and it was a 30 second process for the 4 remotes I programmed. There should be instructions, but there aren't any.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

Replaced 474V Remote

Worked on my old Viper system. The original remote was 474v. I have an Escalade 05. It took me a hell of a long time to get into programming mode but I finally did after getting my car out of park mode. Did this by opening the door, then quickly turning the key, then turning off and pressing the valet button. It chirped. As soon as I heard the chirp, I was able to put it into programming mode. I did the same thing again without removing the key (open the door/turn the key quickly/press and hold

  • Quick replacement

Put the key in the ignition and turn the key to the "on" position (do not start the engine, turn it to the position that turns on all the electronics in your car)3. Press the button on your alarm receiver ONCE, THEN PRESS THE BUTTON DOWN FOR ONE SECOND UNTIL YOU HEAR THE ALARM SEVERAL TIMES, THEN RELEASE THE BUTTON ON THE
