Works great in Cables

Does what it's supposed to. Everyone complains it's broken, it's not a damn stop, the winch pulls 3500lbs, it's just to keep it from rattling so the winch doesn't pull the hook into the fairlead.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Crumpled

Back to functionality

I bought a used quad and the stopper was all chewed up from over pulling the winch line I think. It's an exact match and easy to install. It's cleaned up the look, but more importantly, it does the job.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for seniors

Wire Rope Stopper

Fits well on 3/16" wire and slides flawlessly. Prevents the eyelet and hook from damaging the aluminum rails. Also, it prevents the hook from rattling and rattling. Adjusting nuts cause the screws to turn when they are overtightened.

Pros
  • Great Product
Cons
  • Expandable

But works. - Trolling and winching items

This will prevent your hook from snagging on the leader but I would like a better grip on the line. I want it to act as a stop for my snow plow a few inches from the hook. It simply slips into the hook before it puts up much resistance.

Pros
  • delivery was very quick
Cons
  • weak

Although it claims to hold up to 1/4 cord/line, it is actually larger. This hole is 1/2 inch in diameter. Very sloppy on cable/line 1/4. The description is wrong and I tried it twice after others said it was great for 1/4" cable and line. contacted them it doesn't! Very disappointing after trying to give it a second try, to fulfill what he said.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Good design! for cable

I think they are almost necessary on your ATV/UTV winches to prevent the hook from being pulled in too far. This design is better than most as it cannot come loose as the winch cable goes through the hole and is secured with a hook. I've had others that slip the line through slots in the rubber bumper and metal end caps, but almost always find a way to fall and get lost. In fact, this is a piece of rubber, not many advanced technologies are involved here. This rating is 5 stars because the…

Does what it's supposed to do

Prevents the hook from getting caught in the reel. Yes it will break if you just keep pulling the winch towards the reel and the hook will keep moving. his rubber for goodness sake. Stop it, if you're here, he'll start whining. this means that the hook hit the rubber rollers. Seems pretty easy. Before you go out and disassemble your gear, learn a few things about your winch and how it works. This is a real life saver when a winch is needed and a four wheeler is in a bind. A rubber stopper is…
