The tool you need right now

How to thread the cable through the posts and into the groove properly. Very pleased with me how great these railings look. You thread another wire through the SwiftCatch fitting and look back: #@$% You accidentally punched the wrong hole in one of the posts. Pull out this tool and the cable will easily slide out of the SwiftCatch and you can re-thread the cable. The tool did the job I was supposed to do, but.

Let me start by saying that the whole concept of making something strong enough to force the mechanism to unlock but small enough to physically fit between the cable and the fitting is a feat for himself is Then again, this is the "future" and I refuse to admit that this tool is as good as it gets. should do after some serious brainstorming. Some basic instructions would be helpful.

But it works. for decking and railings

The nose of this tool is too short for some stainless steel hardware. When the tool is actuated it is lowered onto the shoulder before releasing the 3 small clamps inside the fitting. If you press hard, it may not work well. My solution was to file the shoulder very carefully. This made the nose appear longer. You'll need a Dremel tool, some grinding wheels, and a very steady hand or tool rest to do this without damaging the tool. But it can be done. The main issue may have been that the…
