This thing sucks. It gets so dirty in the fabric and velcro area from food, water, garbage. It also gets wet and heavy, leaving wet stains everywhere, as well as slime formed from the inevitable mix of water and dirt. Then the seams unravel from constant moisture and need to be removed and washed. Also, sticker glue can't be removed by any solvent known to man, but the paper will eventually dissolve with moisture, leaving behind an uncomfortable sticky substance that picks up extra dirt…

My cat reacted badly to her new litter. The skin became very irritated and inflamed. Because of this, she began licking and tearing at her fur. As described. I will remove the dotted stickers because my cat will eat them if she can lick them, they peel off fairly easily. The velcro seems strong, let's see how it holds up after surgery. *Update, this is probably not the best choice for an adult cat. The plastic is too deep for them to eat and drink water.
