a leak. Failed after about three weeks

The controller was leaking right out of the box. I didn't notice until he emptied half of my 20# tank in 24 hours. I sprayed it with soapy water and found it was leaking at every joint. I took it apart and sealed all the threads with teflon tape, which fixed the leak. thought ok It was cheap so three stars. Then when you quit your job after three weeks. So a star.

Pros
  • Quality build
Cons
  • Some problems

Before use, Teflon tape must be glued to the threads of the plastic tube.

The regulator works great but before first use you have to unscrew the plastic tube and stick teflon tape on the threads and screw it back on by hand only. Be careful not to twist the threads when unscrewing. If you don't do this, all of your CO2 will escape even with the solenoid closed. I bought 2 of these and both leaked in the first tank I attached them to.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Spend your money elsewhere

I bought this regulator hoping to save some money when I move to high tech planted aquariums. There's no metering on this thing - it's either on or off. and only goes out when you turn the tank valve. The needle valve is completely useless. I ended up spending $150 on another device that actually works as it should and now I can't even get this piece of junk back. Royal waste. The only bright spot here is the fast delivery from the seller.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Minor issues

It will emit some CO2 once you can fill it up.

Let me tell you first I received the package and the package looked like my 4 year old had a ribbon wrapped around it. Then it also looked like the box had been checked in by the shipping company, or it was just a torn box, but parts of the controller were sticking out of the side of the box. I bought this thing thinking it would be the best thing that would ever help me regulate my CO2 levels and it allowed me to empty an entire 5lb bottle as quickly as I opened the valves could, or at least…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Wasted a Whole 5 lb CO2 Tank

I bought this for a new 60 gallon tank that I have installed. I have never used CO2 in a planted aquarium and was very pleased with the feedback. I installed a bubble counter yesterday and it was almost impossible to get it to work slowly enough. I tested all the connections with soapy water and they looked fine. Finally this morning I could barely open it and get it working at 2-3 bubbles per second. Watched and counted for about 30 minutes and it looked good. Unfortunately I work nights so I…

Pros
  • Handy Item
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine

Emptor Beware of Gas Regulator

There is a lot of misinformation here in many reviews, including those that want to "enlighten". No, not all plumbing/gas fitting threads require and should not have Teflon tape. Teflon tape can actually compromise the sealing of a threaded joint if used where it is not intended to be used, and a perfect example of this is the threads on a clear plastic tube where it is screwed into a regulator's body. The thread is NOT Ip (iron pipe) thread and is not cut with a non-uniform tapered diameter…

Pros
  • Gas Welder
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

Save some money and buy this one, they're all the same

This one is exactly the same as the $90 Titan. I ordered a CO2 Titanium regulator from a hydro shop, thought price=quality, only it started to leak, mostly only at the beginning of new tanks, but after 3 tanks it got worse and I couldn't stop it. I didn't have time to walk around and the warranty policy gave them a reason to refuse (increasing the flow halfway voids the warranty). So I decided to 1) order a replacement, 2) break titanium, see what I see. Vivosun was only $32 on Prime Day when I

Pros
  • Gas Regulator
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Half the price of expensive regulators, all value

I've seen some bad reviews and wanted to clarify.1. For all compressed air products, everything that can be unscrewed must be provided with Teflon tape (example: plastic reading tube). You have a gauge. When you have done this, wrap 4 turns of any quality Teflon tape around the threads and gently hand tighten. Please, please use a plastic/fiber spacer to secure the tank. It is a necessary part to prevent gas leakage.3. THE LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT STEP! Take a bottle, water, nozzle, sprayer…

Pros
  • Welding and Soldering
Cons
  • Available in white only
