Worked as advertized

Bought this primarily for a stud finder to replace and old one. I will give a review of all the features.This item was easy to use, however it is important to remember to go slow.This review is in hopes you already know to put it against the wall or whatever structure you are using it on.First, appearance. Easy to use good for me

This scanner is easy and intuitive to use once you read the manual. The 3 second calibration step must be performed before every scan. The fabric on the backside is a nice touch for smooth scanning. I tested it on an open cabinet (where i could see the stud/wooden divider) and it seemed to work just fine.

Great Stud Scanner good for me

This is the first stud scanner I have ever been able to get an accurate reading with. Extremely easy to use and very easy to find center of the studs.

Easy to use accurate cool features

I have tried every stud finder available for under $50 at hardware stores and I've been disappointed. Some weren't very accurate, others were confusing to use. This device is great I've tried it and a number of different walls where I know where things are so I could test accuracy and it works wonderfully. It didn't come with a battery but that's not a big deal. I definitely will recommend it to others

It works "Sometimes "

I used this stud finder for my home renovation project. It definitely helps if you are a 1st time DIYer to understand how the studs are placed in the house. However, it is hard to get the center of the stud accurately.

Great on Drywall in my review

I've been using this for a year now and it's a great little stud finder. It's easy to use, works well, and is more accurate than previous stud finders I have used. It's also very helpful that it marks the center of the stud and not the ends; this alone has helped me put fewer holes in walls when I need to mount or hang things. worked out great finding hidden studs and electrical wires in old plaster walls

i had never had the need for a stud finder until i purchased this one. for that matter i had never even used one before. that said i needed to install a railing in one of our staircases but with an old plaster wall i had no idea where i mount it.the instructions were good and helped get me started. after using just a few minutes i had it down and no more need for them. it found the studs easily and was very accurate. i was surprised and thankful it also found electrical wires hiding adjacent to

Worked for about 8 months

this seemed great at first. it was relatively accurate and could find AC. the accuracy started declining about 6 months in, 8 months in and it detects studs that aren't there and it can't find studs that are there. it also randomly finds AC current if you move it too fast. it's absolutely useless now.

Unfortunately, this stud finder does not work.

First off, I rarely leave reviews on Walmart. With that said, this stud finder does not work. I used a brand new 9V battery as instructed. Just to verify, I opened another brand new 9V battery and stud finder still does not work. The display does light up and it will locate AC in the walls but that is all. This stud finder will not locate any studs wood or metal using the normal, deep, or metal functions. I have been using stud finders for years. I did read the instructions just in case there…

Effective if you're careful

I bought this device out of the many others because of its good reviews, reasonable price and features. I'd just moved into a new house and had artwork and shelving to hang and modifications to make. The old, tap, tap, tap stud finder method is just too chancy and doesn't locate wiring or plumbing. After years of knocking knuckles on Sheetrock and finding too many builders don’t space studs correctly…This is reasonably priced and FAIRLY accurateI still knock and drive very thin drill bits to confirm, but it’s not bad.
